Welcome to our century-old country home. This restored farm house is in the International Night Sky Reserve, a short drive from Mont Mégantic and Mont Gosford where there are endless kilometres of trails for hiking, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. It's grand view is breathtaking and its interior is inspiring. From the deck, as well as from inside, you have an exceptional opportunity to observe the night sky, with its stars, planets and the Milky Way.

The space
What is unique about the space is that is was redesigned by my husband. On the main floor, he added two large, south-facing windows with panoramic mountain views. Through these, the sun shines and warms the house during the day. In the evenings, the night light peers through. One can sit near them, star gaze and identify constellations, all from inside the house.

My husband harvested himself the wood he used to renovate the house. The main floor was completely transformed, as was the second floor; however, the upstairs’ ceilings and floors were preserved in their original state.

Lastly, this space is unique because it offers more than just a house. As guests, you may join us in some of our outdoor activities. For example, in spring, we make maple syrup the old-fashioned way, using buckets. This activity takes place on our 100-acre wood lot property in a neighbouring county.

There, we also maintain and work with horses, so if you’re interested in horses, please let us know. With our horses, we give horseback riding lessons, go for trail rides, as well as practice equine therapy, horse yoga/gymnastics and horse facilitated meditation.

If you wish, we can also be available to guide you along the Sentier Frontalier Trails - Mont Marble section, which is currently poorly marked. A guide is thus recommended.

Thank you for your interest in La Maison des Étoiles! We will do all we can to guarantee you an enjoyable stay.

Guest access
You will be able to access all parts of the space.

Other things to note
We unfortunately do not have a microwave. Of course, the stove can be used to warm up and cook anything, just as we do.

Another thing that comes to mind is a potential snow storm, which may result in shovelling to get cars out. Thankfully, the house is very close to the municipal road, promptly plowed during snow storms. If you have car issues, call us and we will come help.

I am a young female recently married very enthusiastic about eco-living, self -sufficiency, nature and do-it-yourself methods. I am sociable and I value long-lasting relationships. My main passion is horse training and dissipating horse skills via cliniques. My goal is to fuel horse-facilitated wellness. I also work with my husband on our land, which we wish to share with tourists. My style of Airbnb hosting is being attentive and making sure guests are having a good time. 5 things I can't live without: delicious food and people to share it with, hiking, horse-back riding, reading and learning, and my computer (for communications). My favorite travel destinations include the beach, mountain tops and ancient cities. My life motto: to reach an objective you need to have an objective.

During your stay
During your stay, I will be available by phone and will be very happy to speak with you and assist you with anything that you may need. You are welcome visit us on our sugarbush property where my husband and I will be during your stay, or call us for any other services mentioned above.

If your stay is during winter months, I will try to be present on your arrival to inform you how to use the wood-burning furnace (in the basement). Rest assured, for check-in via the lockbox, an instruction manuel describes how to light and maintain the wood furnace. It is easy, low maintenance and generates heat throughout the house within minutes. When it’s sunny out, a fire may not be necessary, but if it is cold and windy, it's a 'must do' for your comfort.
