Great location
95% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Experience the peace and serenity of country living with the convenience of nearby city amenities in an upscale, fully-equipped, private guesthouse on our gated, 2 1/2 acre farm with a sparkling pool. Enjoy strolling through the beautiful pasture, orchard, park-like yard, and vegetable garden with organically grown produce in season. Within 2 hours of San Francisco, Napa and Tahoe; 25 minutes from Sacramento Airport.

The space
The guest house is beautifully appointed with granite counter tops, custom cabinetry and a fresh but restful color pallet. Fully equipped kitchen with high-end, stainless steel appliances including electric glass-top stove, oven, and full refrigerator complete with freezer and ice maker for making healthy meals "at home." Full-sized toaster suitable for bagels and artisan bread. Vitamix personal blender for all your smoothie and juicing needs. Fully stocked with dishware, cookware, bakeware, glasses, silverware, utensils, chef's knives and a smattering of spices and other essential pantry items. Stay healthy while on the road! The mattress is a top quality Simmons Beauty Rest from the International Hotel Group Marriott line with luxury, hypoallergenic linens. Plenty of storage space for your personal items and two suitcase ledges built in to the bedroom cabinetry. The bathroom is beautifully appointed with a generously-sized tile shower and spa-like feel with luxurious towels and personal care products. Equipped with built in hair dryer, shelves to stow your personal items, and under cabinet storage as well. The living area features a comfortable, yet elegant, settee that also functions as seating for the dining table, with two extra chairs to seat four people comfortably. It overlooks the large, wall mounted television with Direct TV satellite service. Moderately effective WiFi available as well as plenty of places to plug in your electronics. The guest house features a large exterior deck with personal grill, seating and a small enclosure with a brand new stacking washer and dryer. Also included is an iron and ironing board, clothes basket, hangers and laundry supplies. Full coffee service with your choice of brewing - individual cone filter (pour-over), French press, or stove-top espresso maker with initial provision of coffee, tea, cream and sugar to get you started. Twelve-cup Drip coffee maker provided upon request. Plenty of room to store your own food. Organically grown, farm fresh vegetables and organic free-range chicken eggs shared when available and in season. Enjoy access to the pool, horseshoe pit, pasture, orchard, fire pit, covered picnic area, garden and the many benches and seats placed around the property for quiet contemplation. Hop in the car for easy access to the Placer County Wine Trail, many Placer Grown farmer's markets, Apple Hill, the historic Gold Country area, and a plethora of local events, concerts and festivals. Property is within quick access to the Interstate 80 corridor for easy access to San Francisco, Napa, and Tahoe and for ease of getting around in most of the local area. Please note that I am required by my county to collect 8 percent Transient Occupancy Tax on top of the published rate for the guest house, which I will add on to the booking when a reservation is made and check-in has occurred, so you will need to figure this in to your total cost. My county does not have an agreement with Airbnb, so I have to collect it and pay it myself. With regard to accessibility, the parking and walkways leading to the guest house are all flat, concrete paths. There are approximately 58 steps from the parking to the entrance of the guest house. The entrance to the guest house has only one slightly raised threshold to step over. The entrance to the bathroom and bedroom are flush with the rest of the flooring. With the exception of the main entry hallway which is 36 inches wide, all other door entries are between 30 and 32 inches wide. The exit to the deck from the guest house is a low threshold only and there is one concrete step off the deck into a mulched area around the deck. Unfortunately the guest house is not wheel chair accessible, but it would be suitable for use with a cane or possibly a walker. There are concrete sidewalks and paths around the whole property including the front and back yards (but not the pasture or orchard), for those with limited mobility issues. The private deck and pool deck can be hot in summer, so please wear shoes. The decks can also freeze occasionally in winter, so extreme caution should be used.

Location

Roseville, California, United States

We are so close to the capital city of Sacramento and all that it has to offer. We are also very close to all kinds of historic places like gold rush country, wine trails, and the legendary Lake Tahoe/Truckee, San Francisco and the Sonoma Valley and Napa, as well as 3 hours to Yosemite. Our town of Roseville is a historic railroad town with many excellent restaurants and shopping. Our immediate neighborhood is "out in the country" but completely accessible to all that the city has to offer. The area is replete with festivals, street fairs and many other events to keep you entertained.

I'm a retired Air Force officer, prior-service U.S. Army Paratrooper and Desert Storm Combat veteran. My husband of 27 years is also retired from the U.S. Air Force. We live with our young adult children on a beautiful 2.5 acre hobby farm in northern California, growing fruits and vegetables and playing around at homesteading. Having lived and traveled all over the world, and moved many times, we are finally here to stay. These days, we are not traveling as much ourselves, but love to host guests of all types and from all over in our new guest house on our peaceful little farm. Come visit us!

During your stay
We would love to meet you on the patio for a cup of morning coffee, or spend time touring the property. But, we are also happy to let you roam and spend some peaceful time alone as well. You can let us know upon booking or just let things develop naturally. We, your hosts, are both retired from the United States Military with over 46 years of combined service and still have young adult children at home. We have many stories to tell and are excited and happy to hear where you come from and what your experiences have been as well. But, we can also leave well enough alone if what you crave is peace and quiet and alone time. We will be mostly available at reasonable hours to meet your needs and answer any questions you may have and would prefer to greet you and farewell you as we are able. We will check you in personally and acquaint you with the guesthouse and any property "rules." Of course you can come and go as you please with a special property gate code or remote control, but we do ask that you drive in carefully as our farm dog roams the property and is curious about any cars coming in. We also ask that you let us know when you are leaving and we will put him inside, so that he doesn't follow you out the gate. If we are not home, he will be secured in the house. One of us is home most of the time. We consider ourselves "interactive" hosts, so if anonymity is what you're seeking, please let us know when making the reservation.
