A all wheel drive car (4WD) is highly recommend for your stay especially in winter, due to the large snow falls. Buses do run in the area, as its the countryside they don’t come often and taxis are available, however can often be busy during peak period.

I live in Myoko, with my wife Nanaco. I came to the area in 2013 for a winter holiday and decided to come back the year after to work for a winter season. After spending a few winters in Myoko, then in Australia and meeting my wife. We decided to settle in Myoko. The winters are full of epic powder snow and the summers are much cooler in the mountains, than the rest of Japan's cities and towns. I enjoy snowboarding, especially backcountry riding. Being trained as a mechanic, I renovated various homes in the Myoko area, enjoy timber work and cutting slabs. Enjoying the area's amazing nature outside of the winter season. I'll be happy to help out while you're staying at my airbnb, don't hesitate to get in touch with any questions.
