Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Light airy 100-year-old updated home in historic Pine Mountain. 1 mile from Callaway Gardens, 2 blocks to downtown antique shops, restaurants, and gas station. Only about 3 miles to hiking trails in Roosevelt State Park. 15 miles to Warm Springs and Roosevelt's cottage. 35 miles from Columbus and 70 from Atlanta Airport. I have another listing in case your party is 2 more and you don't mind sharing a bathroom with them, look for the same photo of the front of the house.

The space
Light and airy cottage, 100 years old, but recently updated....while retaining its historic flavor. Original heart wood pine floors in all but kitchen and bath. Relatives of the original builder told me it was built by his field hands and is listed up at the Pine Mt./Chiply Historical Center.

Where you’ll be

Pine Mountain, Georgia, United States

Nice neighborhood in the historic area, walking 2 blocks to downtown Antique Shops, Churches, Restaurants, History center. I am only 1 mile from Callaway Gardens Entrances. Ask me about this. Callaway Gardens is a wonderful place to bike, hike, play golf and relax at the beach. There are bike, canoe, kayak rentals at the Gardens. There are many trails with flowers in all seasons, Camilia's in Winter, Azaleas in Spring, and beautiful fall foliage. Many events are scheduled throughout the year. Check their website. You must visit the Butterfly Center in any season. Nearby is a pool that is part of Roosevelt State Park for your use in summer. Roosevelt State Park has 23 miles of hiking trails on the ridge. There is a hike to some waterfalls and big granite outcrops are on the trail throughout the park. See where Roosevelt picnicked at Dowells Knob a dramatic overlook of Pine Mt. Valley. At Warm Springs you can visit Roosevelt's cottage and the Warm Springs Institute. There is a bike sales and rental store in town if you would like to rent bikes just for the town, bike trail, or for the gardens: Chipley Cyclery, in downtown Pine Mt.

I now live in Pine Mountain, GA. Enjoying being back here. I am again listing my new/old, and historic home here, as I enjoyed hosting in Florida previously. What fun to host guests from all over the world. I have lived in Panama, 1953 to 1971, Florida...total 20 years and Georgia 20 years...loved Georgia. I have a BA in Fine Art and have been painting and teaching others to paint for the past 20 years. (Website hidden by Airbnb) is my website. Love to hike, and Kayak, love the forest, and mountains. Be happy to have you here or to visit you at your airbnb! The best way to travel to a new area! Things I love: hosting interesting people from all over the world, Kayaking rivers and lakes, teaching painting, oil painting, sunny days, gardening, my dogs and outdoor kitty cat. My favorite travel destinations are NYC, Paris, Desert Southwest, Oregon, Florida, Holland, Italy. Would love to visit China, Japan, Hawaii, Peru, St Petersburg Russia. When I host I hope always to make my inhome guests comfortable, let them decide how much interaction they want, and helping them find their way to where they want to go. Always fun to take them biking, hiking or Kayaking. When I travel to new places I like to stay with a host/hostess so I can get information on the area. If it's an area I know already I might like to stay in a place without a host/hostess. Life motto: You only live once, be open to the new, learn and explore, have no fear. ++

During your stay

Available as you need for directions, info on area, and conversation. I try to stay out of your way, but enjoy interacting with my guests if they desire. There are times I may be available only by phone, if I am out Kayaking or traveling.
