Welcome to the perfect place to spend with family and friends or to experience a quiet romantic get-away. Relax in this outdoor-themed cabin with comfy furnishings, WiFi, and library of movies, books, and games. A detached 300 sq ft "bonus room apartment" with full bath offers privacy and separation of space. The fully equipped kitchen is well stocked with oils, seasonings and baking ingredients. It's the ideal retreat for creating new memories. Head outdoors for more memories!

The space
Your safety during the COVID pandemic is of highest priority to us. We ensure our home is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before each guest arrives, and we do this as a standard practice year-round. Cleaning and sanitizing supplies are available at our cabin. We did not rent mid-March and April in accordance with State of Oregon shelter-in-place policies and AirbnB policies. We will continue to watch for any updates and changes. With loosening of some social distancing policies, we are now accepting new reservations through the summer months and beyond. The cabin is located away from a densely populated area, making it one of the safest places to be to enjoy hiking, taking a scenic drive, and relaxing in a wilderness setting.

At the cabin, enjoy filtered mountain views and bird-watching while sitting in front of a cozy fire or sunning on the deck. This home sleeps up to 11 people in beds (7 beds total). Depending on a smaller group size, you may be eligible for a discount on rental rates. See our other AirbnB listing that excludes the detached bonus room apartment (Beautiful Cabin Retreat w/in Minutes of Outdoor Recreation listing #11513259).

If you are looking for adventure during your stay, here are some popular options to consider:
-- Take a 10-min. drive to Crescent Lake for swimming at Simax Beach (we provide beach chairs & beach towels), boating, paddle boarding or fishing (also at Odell Lake). Both have resorts that offer rentals, but check availability on their websites online at Crescent Lake Resort or Odell Lake Lodge and Resort.
-- Enjoy a 30-min to 1- hr drive along the Cascade Lakes Scenic Highway with stops at various lakes/resorts for lunch along the way (Twin Lakes, Lava Lake, Elk Lake)
-- During winter months, a quick 15-min drive gets you to Willamette Pass Ski Resort for downhill skiing and the Gold Lake Sno-Park for xctry skiing and snowshoeing (rentals available). Stop at the Willamette Pass Ski Hut in the Gold Lake Sno-Park parking lot to warm up and enjoy a cup of hot cider. (We provide 4 sets of adult size snowshoes and 3 or 4 sleds.) Plenty of maps and information are available in our "Welcome" guidebook.
-- Plan to drive one-hour and spend the day at Oregon's famed Crater Lake National Park for spectacular views, hiking, or hanging out at the lodge.
-- Mt Bachelor Ski Resort is only a one-hour drive for some of the best ski and snowboarding runs in the state.
-- Head north on Hwy 97 for a 45-min to one-1 drive to visit the Lava Caves, the High Desert Museum, or the city of Bend, Oregon (known for great microbrews and fun downtown vibe)
-- Find excellent fishing in the high lakes. Within 20 minutes, enjoy two fly fishing-only lakes (Gold Lake and Davis Lake) for rainbows, brookies, and bass. Both Crescent and Odell lakes offer fishing for lake trout and kokanee. Boat rentals available at both Crescent and Odell lake resorts. Thirty-minute plus will get you to Wikiup, Crane Prairie, and Waldo Lakes. Drive 45-minutes to enjoy beautiful fly fishing-only at Hosmer Lake with outstanding views of Mt. Bachelor and the Three Sisters (also known for paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing on the lake's calm water). An hour away takes you to the famous Diamond, Paulina, and East lakes where boat rentals are available.
-- Need more ideas, feel free to contact us! Or, refer to our Welcome Book and brochures.

The winter months can be a special time to visit. Hwy 58 is plowed by ODOT. And the roads in Diamond Peaks, where our cabin is located, are all plowed. We ensure that our driveway is plowed before guests arrive. Winter is the perfect time for snowmobiling, skiing, snowshoeing, and sledding, and you can go straight from the cabin to nearby trails (See our cabin Welcome book for maps). Our cabin is located on the uphill side of the road, which makes for great sledding.

You will need an Oregon Sno-Park Permit to park at some locations-available for purchase at the Crescent Lake Sportsman Center or online by searching "Oregon Sno-Park Permit".

Guest access
All access, with exception of locked storage closets.

Other things to note
Although WiFi is available, mountain reception may impede movie/game streaming services on all devices. Standard use of the Internet will not be a problem.

If you plan to visit recreation areas (lakes, trails, etc.) in Deschutes, Willamette, or Umpqua national forests, parking or day use permits may be required. Refer to the US Forest Service website for these national forests at https://www.fs.fed.us/visit/passes-permits. Oregon State Parks also may require permits (https://oregonstateparks.org/index.cfm?do=visit.dsp_dayuse)
If you have a federal America the Beautiful senior pass, check to make sure it can be used at any recreation area you plan to visit.

Our cabin "Bummy's Place" is located only 1.5-hours from Eugene and 1-hour from Bend, making it an easy and picturesque drive with lots fun places to visit along the way. During the winter all roads are plowed, and we will be certain to have our driveway plowed for our guests' arrival. The cabin sits on one-acres in the beautiful Diamond Peaks development on Royce Mountain. Basic provisions can be purchased at the Crescent Lake Sportsman Center/gas (1.2 miles away). A couple of restaurants across the street from the Sportsman Center offer family fare. Both Crescent and Odell lakes have resorts and equipment rental, but check their season hours. Nearby Willamette Pass Ski Resort is open during the snow season. Although there are other homes in Diamond Peaks, the cabin is situated off the road and offers privacy. Take a walk in the area to see wonderful vistas and why a number of people have decided to make this area their favorite recreation destination.

We love the Oregon Cascades and the abundance of outdoor recreation opportunities available. It's a form of R & R we've come to appreciate and we want to make it easy to share the Central Oregon experience with you. Our favorite ways to spend time here are to fly fish, hike, Xctry ski, snowshoe, mountain bike, and sit on the beach at Crescent Lake to watch beautiful sunsets. At the end of the day, the cabin is a great place to unwind, have a glass of wine and enjoy a toasty fireplace. We look forward to sharing our ideas for adventures with our guests. Feel free to contact us at any time.
