A warm welcome awaits at Manor Hill. Please note my 'LOCATION' is Ballincollig, which is 9KMS (approx) from Cork City. It is next to the bus stop which goes into city every 30 mins & at a cost of approx 5.00 euro return (220 bus). Some guests get this wrong and presume my location is Cork city - so consider before booking!! Relax in a king sized bed in extra large bedroom (folding bed available for child ). Help yourself to continental breakfast-bread, cereals.

The space
My cosy home is situated a short drive (9 Kms) from Cork City in the vibrant town of Ballincollig. (Please note my 'location' - as it is NOT Cork City but Ballincollig, which is a very busy vibrant town, with many restaurants, pubs, shops, cinema etc.) This modern 2 storey house is set in a small quiet estate just off the Cork to Killarney N22 route, and is an ideal touring base for visitors to the beautiful West Cork region & also for Kerry. My place is ideal if you have a car at your disposal, while there is an excellent bus service right next to my house, this is an added expense. (Just a consideration!)

It is also very convenient to Cork Airport or Cork Ferry Port, with good access roads in all directions.

There is a bus stop (2 minutes away) with a regular bus service into Cork City centre - number 220 bus - leaves Cork city at Grand Parade - in front of City Library. Ask for Inniscarra View bus stop - NOT Ballincollig - then just cross the road and you are in my housing estate.

Rooms available:
- King-sized bedroom

- there is also an option of a second bed - folding bed (suitable for a child)

Location

Cork, Ireland

The bustling town of Ballincollig has been one of the centre points of suburban Cork for some time now. Situated 9 kilometres west of Cork City, Ballincollig is a wonderful town that is located beside the lovely River Lee. Nearby towns include Bishopstown, Ballinora and Ovens but Ballincollig is quickly establishing itself as one of Cork's most vibrant suburban areas.

The Regional Park lies to the west of the town at the Inniscarra Bridge.

Explore Ballincollig Gunpowder Trails
The trails consist of four looped walks, colour-coded according to length, which take place within and around the Regional Park, Ballincollig which was once home to a major gunpowder works.

Ballincollig Royal Gunpowder Mills is a unique 19th century gunpowder works and Ireland's largest industrial archaeological site. It was the second biggest gunpowder
mills in the whole of Britain and Ireland after Waltham Abbey in Essex.
It now lies within the 130 acres of the Regional Park, Ballincollig, an area of outstanding natural beauty,
extending 2.4 km along the south bank of the River Lee. The site enjoys National Monument status with over 90%
of the original buildings associated with gunpowder production still in existence.
