Great check-in experience
100% of recent guests gave the check-in process a 5-star rating.
Our rustic, ancient village is nestled at the foot of the beautiful Pyrenees in the department of Aude in the region of Languedoc -Roussillon (Occitanie). We are a couple of hours drive by car to Andorra, Spain and the Mediterranean. It is a place of natural beauty and tranquility with an abundance of forests, streams, clean air and spring water. Its forests contain many animals, notably wild boar and birds along walking trails and paths.

The space
Come and experience the real France of ancient villages and Cathar castles and rural life as it used to be, staying in a century old village home with 20th century decor and modern amenities.

Guest access
Private bedroom, bathroom private or shared depending on number of people, shared kitchen & living area. Guests can enter the property independently after check in and vacate the property by use of a lock box.

Other things to note
The villagers are friendly, laid-back and always curious about visitors. From the village you will be able to view the snow-capped peaks of the Pyrenees and beyond them, Spain and Andorra. Natural flora and fauna abound here, especially birds of various types one can always hear singing, such as swallows and warblers with the occasional hawk and eagle high above.

Coustaussa, Occitanie, France

Our medieval village with its ruined chateau and capitelles seems to live in another century. It is ideal for nature-lovers and walkers with mountains, forests and rivers nearby. What makes it unique is that despite its apparent remoteness it is centrally located and only 3km from the main road and a 40 minute drive to the medieval city of Carcassonne, less than an hour to the Pyrenees and an hour and a half to Perpignan and the coast. Within a short drive are small towns and quaint villages such as Alet-les-Bains where the famous medieval astrologist and prophet, Nostradamus, lived in the 16th century; the historical village of Rennes-le-Chateau, site of the legend of the Holy Grail and the Da Vinci Code; and Rennes-les-Bains with its hot springs and spas.
Information leaflets are available in the house and there is an information centre nearby for additional local information.
There are rivers, mountains and forest trails to be explored as well as ancient castles and cathedrals. But above all, you will encounter the affable and welcoming people of Occitanie!
