Located on the sloping hillside across the street from the Strawhouse Cafe', this yellow house will greet you with a warming glow as you enter in. At almost 1,100 square footage, two bedrooms (a queen bed in each), two bathrooms, heating/ac, a full kitchen, washer/dryer, and very spacious living and dining room areas, you have plenty of room to enjoy each other's company. Meander down to the Trinity River on the Strawhouse Cafe' side or enjoy the garden and mountain views from your living room.

The space
Although it is attached to Creekside Cottage, it does not share any living spaces but does share the undercover porch and patio areas. It's perfect for families who want to be close to each other but not in the same space.

It is one of two of our pet-friendly accommodations (the being the Creekside Cottage next door).

Must notify Strawhouse prior to arrival if bringing a pet. Pet must be well-behaved and non-destructive. Absolutely no pets with fleas are allowed.

Although we love animals, pets are not allowed down by the river's edge on the Strawhouse side of the property out of respect for other guests (there are other local river access areas - please ask about them!), but there is a very spacious and beautiful lawn area on our park side that they are free to enjoy and lots of beautiful hiking areas nearby! We do ask that you pick up after your pet.

Guest access
- Quiet hours between 10 pm and 8 am
Pets are not allowed down by the river area (even though we love pets, it is out of respect for other guests), but there is a very nice grassy park area where they can run around.

Other things to note
Welcome! Thank you for making your reservation with us! We are looking forward to your stay with us. Here are a few tips that will help your arrival with us go smooth.

Please do not rely on Google Maps, as it does not always send you in the right direction. The following are detailed driving directions to Strawhouse Resorts and our policies:

From Redding, CA – Interstate 5:
Take Exit CA-44W/299W towards Eureka and Weaverville. You will stay on Hwy 299W until you reach Strawhouse Resorts. We are 20 miles west of Weaverville (about a 30 minutes drive) and 12 miles west of Junction City in a little town called Big Flat. You will check in at the Strawhouse Café, which is a big yellow building on the left.

From Eureka, CA – Highway 101:
Take the CA-299 E towards Willow Creek/Weaverville/Redding. Continue onto CA-299 E until you reach Strawhouse Resorts. We are approximately 45 minutes past Willow Creek in a little town called Big Flat. You will check in at the Strawhouse Café, which is a big yellow building on the right.

My husband and I own a small resort in Northern California. We roast organic coffee and love organic foods. We are vegetarians and adore the water (ocean and rivers best). We hope our guests feel like they are part of the family by the time they leave.
