The Coachhouse at Marino Lodge, Murrisk, Co Mayo

The original stone coachhouse of Marino Lodge was converted in 2019 into two beautiful two storey apartments (The Bay and The Reek) each sleeping 6. The approach to the property is down a long driveway just off the Westport to Louisburgh coast road (R335). This opens into sheltered and private grounds where Marino Lodge and the Coachhouse are located on a private shoreline. This listing is for The Reek apartment.

Location

Westport, County Mayo, Ireland

Westport Town
The Coach house is located 6 miles from Westport town, 10min drive. Westport is on the edge of an Atlantic inlet, on Ireland's West Coast. It's a Georgian town, one of the few planned towns in Ireland and is rich in history and tradition. Today it is a vibrant, lively town with a superb range of quality restaurants, cafes, contemporary and traditional pubs. In 2017 it was voted The Best Town to Live in by the Irish Times.

The Great Western Greenway bike and pedestrian trail runs 42km from Westport to Achill and is a must do for visitors of all ages! This Greenway is currently being extended right past the Coach houses so you will be able to safely cycle along some of the most beautiful coastline in the country.

Murrisk Village
The Coachhouse is less than 1km from Murrisk Village with a couple of award winning traditional pub/restaurants within walking distance. Murrisk lies at the foot of Croagh Patrick - climbing The Reek takes between 3-5 hours and the views of Clew Bay all the way up are spectacular. It’s a great acheivement worth the reward of a perfectly poured pint of Guinness at Campbells Pub!

Horse riding is available in the village also, please ask us for details for booking.

Murrisk is also home to a 15th century Abbey and the national memorial commemorating the Irish Famine.

Loop walks in the area for all levels of walkers. We are 4km from Lecanvey with a church, pub, and the secluded Lecanvey beach for pier jumping and picnics.

So much more to describe for all types of holidays and we'd be delighted to answer any questions about the area before you get here.
