A charming terrraced cottage in the sleepy hamlet of Hurst, this former lead mining cottage benefits from tranquility and seclusion in a very rural setting within heather laden moorland.
There are fabulous scenic walks and cycle rides straight from the doorstep, or unwind and simply enjoy beautiful views without getting off the sofa!
Despite the unspoilt vistas to the front and rear of this cottage the towns Reeth, Richmond and Leyburn are all a short journey away.

A true gem in Swaledale.

The space
The Cottage was once owned by the nearby former leadmines, it is believed horses were kept here whilst workers slept above upstairs.
We have retained as much of the character of the property as possible, boasting the original internal doors, beams, open fire place and arched doors that lead to the garden that would have been the entrance for the horses.

As such the cottage doesn't have some of the modern trappings.
There is no broadband capability in the area, and also no phone signal within the cottage. Although certain networks do work just outside the front of the cottage.
We personally love the isolation and find that it is part of its charm!
There are no terestial TV channels, however we have literally hundreds of DVD's and Blurays covering most genres both recent and old classics. There is also an abundance of games to enjoy.
There is also no mains water to the cottage, our water actually comes from the body of water in one of the photos from the gallery, it passes through a filtration process before reaching the house then passes trough a UV filter within the cottage so the water is percectly clean and safe. it can however be stained from the nature of peaty moors that it comes from so baths etc can appear tainted. We reccomend you bring seperate drinking water, not because you can't drink the water but because it does taste different to water that comes to us from mains water.
