Welcome to Lake Tahoe! Our rustic 1930's cabin is the perfect getaway for those looking to enjoy the fresh, clean air and quaint mountain charm that is synonymous with Lake Tahoe. With amazingly easy access to Zephyr Cove, the casinos at Stateline, and trails that start right out of your front door you're sure to find the best of Lake Tahoe here on the beautiful east shore! (VHRP DP19-0174)

The space
Located just across the highway from the water, this one bedroom cabin features a filtered lake view from the upstairs sleeping areas. The Jack and Jill bathroom is also located upstairs, between the common area outfitted with a queen-size bed and the private bedroom. The downstairs features a user-friendly kitchen, two recliners, a smart television with Netflix and a DVD player, and a small deck out front.

Guest access
Guests will have full access and use of the house 24 hours a day. You can come and go as you like and there's an electronic lock, so there's no keys to keep up with!

Other things to note
This is a small cabin. The single bedroom affords privacy; the common area adjacent to it (with the second queen bed) is open to the stairs. The home is best suited to those that are comfortable sharing a small space.

Your health and well-being are our number one priority during your visit. To address the concerns related to the novel coronavirus we have put further emphasis on sterilizing the cabin before our guest's arrival. We use professional grade cleaning products and take care to thoroughly sanitize the cottage, top to bottom. Our towels and linens are washed at high temperatures using high-grade detergents and/or bleach. Extra attention is placed on communal surfaces such as door knobs and counter tops, so you can relax knowing that every effort has been made to ensure your safety and comfort.

Relatedly, we kindly ask that you remain vigilant while visiting our little mountain town. Be conscientious while out in public and consider wearing a mask when social-distancing is difficult (like when grocery shopping). Also, take advantage of the many great local restaurants that offer take out or delivery. In an outdoor mecca like Lake Tahoe it's actually pretty easy to stay safely isolated, but a little planning can make it that much more seamless.

We're confident that you'll find the location of the cabin very convenient. Whether hiking any of the areas numerous trails, visiting any of the local beaches, or exploring the lake itself, the property, though small, is very well situated for any number of local adventures and outdoor pursuits. Finally, although the proximity to the highway makes travel by car very expedient, it may also add a bit of traffic noise at times.

Conveniently removed from the hustle, bustle, and traffic of South Lake Tahoe proper, this neighborhood on the east shore is a beautifully scenic and quaint corner of Lake Tahoe. That said, there is an array of recreational opportunities within a short distance of the cabin. Hike to the summit of Cave Rock, take a relaxing walk on Nevada Beach, or drive up to Sand Harbor for a stunning sunset. Across the highway, Cave Rock State Park has a small beach with picnic tables, bbq facilities, and fantastic views. Roundhill Square is 5 minutes down the road and has a Safeway supermarket, a coffee shop, restaurants (with takeout!), a post office, etc. Carson City is a 20 minute drive down the hill where you'll find a Costco, Walmart, Trader Joe's, and In and Out Burger. We are also a very easy 1 hour drive from the Reno airport. A bit of history: Bill Harrah (of Harrah's casinos) is rumored to have built this cabin for his guests visiting the lake in the 1930's. You'll notice that the surrounding cabins are all of a similar diminutive stature and were built around the same period.

As a lover of travel I am constantly looking to engage with new people, cultures and environments, be it from around the block or around the world. I've discovered some of my favorite places through my love of climbing, which I've enjoyed a passionate relationship with for over 20 years. My adventures have brought me around the world, from Patagonia to South Africa, Australia to Asia and beyond. I'm also a somewhat obsessive reader and love a good movie. As a long time resident of Tahoe I also enjoy skiing, backpacking, live music (and good beer!), which we're lucky to have in abundance. If you're reading this bio it's probably because you're looking to have me as a guest or looking to book my place. I'd like you to know that I base all my interactions upon the principal that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. I feel privileged to be able to offer my humble abode to guests. I also realize that I am extremely lucky to be able to travel, to experience new things and to meet new people and be welcomed into their homes. I look forward to meeting and/or speaking with you!
