Welcome to “The Loft” Enjoy this private, spacious, breezy, self contained space, nestled in a quiet cul-de-sac just minutes walk to Ballina’s main town center and shops. A close 5 minute drive to the Ballina/Byron Gateway airport, 15 minute drive to Lennox Head and Newrybar and just a 20-30 minute drive to Byron Bay. We’re a block away from the boat ramp so ideal for boat lovers and just minutes from North Creek cycle/walk way to Shaws Bay, lighthouse and Shelly beach.

The space
Contrary to its name, the Loft boasts natural light and space, immersed high on the second level of our private Ballina dwelling. You will have your own driveway which leads to your separate private entry into the loft.

Soak up the coastal breeze or enjoy a late afternoon BBQ, whilst listening to the native birdlife on your very own L shaped balcony with day bed, lounge and massive 8 seater alfresco dining table.

The Loft features a fully equipped kitchen complete with Smeg Lavazza coffee machine, toaster and kettle as well as all the cooking utensils and necessities you should require for both a short or long term stay. The Pantry is stocked with all your basics, containing but not limited to herbs and spices, sugar, breakfast condiments, paper towel, cling wrap, baking paper and foil, and some little sweet surprises. Enjoy the complimentary continental breakfast on your first morning with milk, yoghurt and local Brookfarm muesli.

In the main room, you will find a reverse cycle air conditioned room with ceiling fan and heavenly queen size bed with tempur mattress adorned with quality linen, cashmere and organic cottons from some of our favourite brands which will guarantee you get a good nights rest.

The second bedroom is complete with a ceiling fan and desk fan and two king single beds both with high quality bedding which can also conveniently be configured as a king bed if you have two couples. Please let us know which configuration you would prefer when booking.

The bathroom will entice you to relax and unwind in the original claw foot bath after a busy day exploring the local beaches and hinterland.

The open lounge overlooks the native trees where you can watch the beautiful bird life. Reverse Cycle Air Conditioning will keep you both cool in the summer months and warm in the winter months and the TV is set up for full access to Netflix, Disney Plus, Kayo and Wi fi for all your viewing needs.

We are more than happy to accommodate families and children and can happily set up a safety stair rail and or small high/low chair.

The only joining door to our residence is at the bottom of the stairs, which will remain locked at all times throughout your stay. We have two children ourselves aged 9 and 6 in which during your stay you may hear their or our squeals of joy ;). We are here should you need anything at all but respect your privacy and will not bother you unless you wish to interact.

We love to host and aim to set the bar high for your stay and ensure you have a memorable experience here at Ballina Loft.

Ballina is a little hidden gem, (often over shined by the popular Byron Bay), however, with the choice of so many different peaceful waterways accessible location and chilled vibe we actually rate it number 1 (but shhhh that’s our little secret ;) ... Shelly beach is a favourite of ours to swim and explore the rock pools. Take a walk up to Ballina' s beautiful little lighthouse at Shelly beach head lookout or grab the bikes and ride along the wall alongside lighthouse beach and discover Shaws Bay waterway and the beautiful Serpentine.

Dolphin watching, whale watching, bird watching, surfing, jet skiing, fishing, river cruises, bike rides are among just a few, you won't be short of things to do and these are all just outside your doorstep when you stay with us in the Loft.

The connecting highway just minutes from the loft will take you through the hills of the Byron hinterland where you can discover waterfalls and waterholes and some very beautiful tucked away villages such as Newrybar and Federal.

Hi I’m Kat, mum to my beautiful two children and engaged to my partner Theo.

Originally from Melbourne, I moved to the area after my overseas travels and Ballina has been home for the past 17 years ... Its safe to say we love the area!

I love all things to do with design, fashion and interiors and love to be able to share my love of this through our home for you to enjoy throughout your stay.

We’re an early to bed family (around 9pm) and we usually sleep till around 7am.

Our kids are excitable little ones and we love going for bike rides, ocean swims and hanging out. In their down time they are total movie buffs and love a good flick.

Both Theo and I work full time and the kids are at school, so we are not often at home during the weekdays (unless during school holidays)

The Loft is exclusively for you and your checked in guests with your very own private access entrance and driveway.

We won’t bother you during your stay, and your free to make yourself completely at home in the loft and come and go as you please in the privacy and comfort of your own space.

If you would like to interact we are here and happy for a chat and our kids are social little ones too!

Most of all we are passionate about setting the bar high as your hosts and ensuring every detail has been ticked for you to enjoy everything about your stay in the Loft. We look forward to opening our doors to you and sharing this beautiful space we have curated X
