Escape Los Angeles to this incredible getaway! Perched on a private bluff amidst thousands of acres of pristine nature and wildlife, the airstream boasts infinite ocean views, serenity and style.

The space

This is the personal Airstream of a nature-loving Malibu designer who built it as his personal getaway from his busy hectic schedule. Stripped down past its aluminum studs, it's been redesigned into a large studio with three large frameless glass panels that slide open to a huge cantilevered deck with unrivaled views of the Pacific ocean and thousands of acres of pristine and untouched nature.

Lounge in our luxury extra thick wool rugs and cotton poufs, drive down to surf one of Malibu's best beaches, have dinner at neptune's net or go hike Sandstone Peak, Santa Monica's highest mountain just behind the property. Enjoy incredible sunsets and even more amazing starry nights without any light pollution and try to spot the satellites silently wizzing past the milky way beaming down to earth.

And then at dawn, if you are lucky with the morning fog, wake up above the clouds like you are the only person in this planet.

IMPORTANT NOTE - This listing is weather dependent. If there is a high chance of rain or rain scheduled during your stay we reserve the right to cancel the reservation due to slippery dirt road conditions and the fact that we have to store all the expensive furniture inside the airstream.

Please do not use GPS to find the airstream. Use the directions we provide in the itinerary.

Please do not book this space if you are afraid of sleeping somewhere remote in isolation or are afraid of nature or expect a 100% bug free environment. You are literally surrounded by thousands of untouched acres of wildlife. That means there might be a few mosquitoes or bugs or even a mouse or a rattle snake (we have yet to see one at the airstream).
The beauty of the experience lies in sleeping with the doors open, under the milkyway while hearing the ocean below and the occasional seal barking in the distance or coyote howling for its pack.

Guest access

There's a queen sized bed and another pull out sofa that can fit another person - bring your own sleeping bag for the 3rd wheel. Kitchenette, fridge and separate bathroom with complete privacy and stunning views.

Interaction with guests

There is a house 300 yards below the airstream where a lovely family with kids live. If you peak over the edge of the deck you might see the kids playing outside. Frank and Heidi the parents are super friendly and can help you with serious concerns once you are there.

Other things to note

There is no reception at the airstream. 1/2 mile down below, where the paved road end (upper camp area) there is perfect reception in case you need to make a call.

This off the grid airstream means there is no AC power for electrical devices. The 12V DC system powers the LED lights and stereo / speakers. You can charge your iphone off the stereo but bring your own cable as guests take ours often :(

There are two routes up to the airstream. The short one (not paved, you'll need an SUV) takes 7 minutes to the beach, the longer one (paved and gentle dirt road, all non lowered cars make it ok as long as you are a decent driver and know how to navigate ruts) takes about 11 minutes but is very scenic and beautiful.

If you are fearful of dirt roads, care immensely about your sports car, or are afraid of cliffs, skip this booking. For all other adventurers, I make it up with my prius without bottoming out no problem so don't fear.

No words can do this place justice. It's absolutely fking epic. No what you're getting into and Be prepared to be glamping. Water, toilets, power are effectively camping. But its absolutely amazing.

First off, I want to start this review by saying I would 110% recommend this stay to a friend!  As pretty much everyone else stated, it was awesome, and a truly unique experience unlike anything else I have experienced.  The views are stunning!   With that being said, here’s my honest take on pretty much everything.  The drive up was not bad at all.  Yes, we got slightly confused for a second with all the twists, and turnoffs, but we followed the instructions very closely and found it just fine.  We were in Jeep so the dirt road was fun to drive, but I could see a standard sedan with a decent driver making it just fine.  Check-in was a breeze; the owner was very easy to work with.  We basically just pulled-up, unloaded our stuff and were all set.  We did do a fair amount of prepping, in all honesty.  We brought a couple flashlights, warm jackets, a couple extra blankets for sitting outside, paper plates/utensils/napkins, and all meals/snacks/drinks we anticipated needing for dinner and breakfast the following day.  We had a good cooler, and even brought our own mini griddle so we didn’t have to make a mess in the kitchen (please note this was a gas griddle as there is NO fire allowed on the property for good reason).  Although we found the airstream to be secluded and provided plenty of privacy, you could see quite a few houses around you in the distance on neighboring hilltops, and there was another trailer that you could just barely see on the other side of a hill not too far off.  The airstream was very clean; however, we did find it to be a bit worn.  It wasn’t a problem in the slightest, but just making an honest observation.  Bed was great, very clean and comfortable.  The comforter was plenty warm for us in early November.  I did wish I had remembered to bring my own pillow, but in general that’s something I do when I travel by car – I mean, who doesn’t love their own pillow!  We would also recommend bringing a pair of binoculars if you have them - we were able to spot some dolphins in the morning which was a real treat.   We didn’t bother with using the running water in the airstream, and like I mentioned we brought a lot of our own cooking utensils, etc. so can’t comment on whether the airstream is well-stocked in that regard.  The bathrooms are off a little ways from the airstream, but we found it to be perfectly clean and not much of a problem.  We did not use the shower either, so can’t comment on that.  We did not have any run-ins with large animals, but did notice a few bugs, and a mouse.  It wasn’t much of a problem for us, except we did have to forfeit our morning toast ;)  My girlfriend and I both concluded that for us, we found this to be a little...
