Blackness is a peaceful rural village around 16 miles west of Edinburgh. There are lovely walks ( or cycling) from the doorstep along the John Muir Way , along the Forth and through Hopetoun Estate. (We may be able to accommodate horsey visitors too if you wish to bring a horse! ) There is a village shop for milk, rolls etc and good pub which serves meals. The Champany Inn is just up the road which is famous for its excellent steaks - reputedly the best in Scotland! There's also a good selection of restaurants, cafes and bars in Linlithgow, and in nearby South Queensferry.
