Our beautiful and cosy guesthouse is nestled amongst rolling hills in the middle of the stunning Viphya Forest Reserve, Northern Malawi. Enjoy outdoors activities living in a comfortable cabin in a area that is unique to Africa. It is a self-catering cottage but has an amazing chef who will look after your every need.

The space
Our plantation is on the way between the capital Lilongwe and the main city in the North, Mzuzu. It is 3 hours from Lilongwe and hour from Mzuzu on the main M1 road. This is one of the main roads in Malawi and the plantation is easy to get to.
The nature, environment and flora and fauna of this unique place in Malawi. There are some species of orchids endemic only to this area and mushrooms during rainy season. See a working essential oil plantation, see oil being extracted from our plants and trees, and you can buy fresh essential oils from the farm.
The house is very well finished and made from timber giving it a warm cosy cabin feel. It is raised on stilts creating a stunning view. The house has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 6. It's great for groups of friends and families. There is plenty of room for campers too.
The master bedroom is en-suite and there is another bathroom/ shower for the other two rooms. There is an open plan living room and kitchen, and your host Watson will see to your every need. He is an amazing cook so you can be adventurous! All cooking utensils, towels, sheets are available.

Guest access
All areas of the house are accessible although wheel chair access may be difficult. Feel free to wander the plantation and go for walks, but make an appointment if you want to see the distillation plant with the Director there.

Other things to note
The power runs of solar, batteries and an inverter so please only charge during the daytime, not overnight. There is a generator too for the evening if you like and the watchman will switch it on and off for you.
There is a TV and a hard drive with movies and instructions by the TV. There are board games and a fire. Ask your host to light for you.
There is a dog and a cat but they can always stay at the HQ . Sam the dog loves to go for walks and may go out with you but please make sure she doesn't run after your car!
Bring your food, drinks, wines, beers, cereals etc. I can email you a 'know-before-you-go' list if you book with us so you are well prepared.

I am originally from London but now live in Malawi, Africa. I have a charity , Expand, I set up in 2010 and built a primary school in 2007. Now I have an essential oil plantation in northern Malawi and we make lovely natural oils for export. I love the UK though and try and come back to Europe every year. I love sports, art, travelling, reading and dancing!
