We enjoyed our family get together at Marks airbnb a lot, it is a very special house on a very special plot of land with an amazing view! Check in an out was smooth, we were taken care of and any issue we might have was instantly resolved. Thanks for your hospitality, we felt privileged to stay at your wonderful place.

I guess we thought the place looked to have some old world charm. Being underneath the house it was rather dark and claustrophobic and sometimes noisy. We didn't realise there was no living room to speak of and kitchen tiny and could only seat two people at table. However whilst generally clean, everything inside dated, very cheap linen and towels, beds the most uncomfortable I have slept on in a long time and being two singles pushed together didn't help. Kitchen poorly fitted and equipped (reminded me of my student bedsit), the heater supplied was cracked and broken feet and wires held together with tape, electrics dodgy - gave us a couple of shocks and blew the house fuse when oven and heater was on. Leak in bathroom and slight sewage smell. Could be OK with some money and love spent on it - view from outside lovely.

Response from Mark:
Dear Tom, thank you for your feedback - although critical, it is precise - and not angry. We appreciate that. And we have looked around the whole apartment (looking at all the things you have written about - and mostly, we agree. So we are going to take your advice and invest some money in the apartment this spring. This means that if anyone is thinking of coming in May, please contact us first - to make sure the improvements have been completed. They will definitely be finished before June, July and August.

Caldes d'Estrac is a lovely village, and Mark and Elizabeth's house is such a charming property. The apartment on the ground floor is great, even if it is probably much more appreciable in the summer, when days are longer and weather is warmer.

We were met at the station with a warm and friendly welcome. The property grounds are just beautiful and the location is 10 mins from the station directly into Barca and a lovely beach. The beach had beautiful sand and aquamarine water, very very clean and safe. Lovely to swim. The property has 2 bedrooms to sleep 4 comfortably and a terrace with a super view of the gardens and sea in the distance. The apartment had lots of rustic charm and we were visited everyday by the household pets (chicken, kittens and Lilu (red setter)) which was super fun. The hosts took us to the local organic farm to buy excellent fruits and veggies and we were supplied with organic eggs from their hens. The local village has a few cafes and restaurants, the ones at which we ate were great, there is a little indoor market for all fresh meats cheeses and veg, and a little supermarket for everything else. A great house in a great location.
