We are delighted to share this beautiful and elegant home with our guests. The Ashton House is located in the heart of Silver City’s famous historical district and a just short walk to downtown where all the art galleries, shops, coffee shops, and restaurants await.

The space
The Ashton House is one of the many beautiful Victorian homes built during Silver City's mining heyday in the late nineteenth century. This brick Queen Anne with six steeply peaked dormers, lovely arched windows and original interior woodwork, was built in 1883 for saloon and gambling parlor owner, Charles Ashton.

What makes the Ashton House truly wonderful is not only the beauty of a well-preserved Victorian home, but also our amazing and eclectic art collection that decorates every room, giving the house an almost museum-like quality. This is not your ordinary or typical Airbnb, but rather a truly unique lodging experience and we hope you will enjoy your stay as much as we love living here!

We have three guest rooms to offer in this beautiful and welcoming space. The Silver Room has a king bed and rollaway twin bed. There is a private bath with shower. This room accommodates up to three people.

Our guest bedrooms, each with en suite baths, are located upstairs. There are common living and dining rooms for everyone to enjoy downstairs as well as a delightful front porch where you can sit and watch the world go by.

We offer coffee in the morning to our guests and breakfast-serving restaurants and coffee shops are just a short walk or drive away.

This listing is for one room only. If you have a large group (up to seven people) and wish to rent all three of our rooms, please seek out our "Historic Ashton House" Airbnb listing.

Sorry, no kitchen facilities available but guests have the use of our coffee service, a small refrigerator, and microwave oven.

Guest access
You will have a private room with a king bed and bath upstairs and use of the living and dining rooms and the front porch downstairs.

Other things to note
We have a Lockly smart lock on our front door. You can either download the Lockly app on your smartphone to operate it or we will give you a code to enter into the lock's keypad. We will instruct you on how to use the lock when you arrive.

Your room has its own deadbolt with a keypad entry so there is no need for a key. We will give you the code and instruct you on how to operate it when you arrive.

About the owners: Bob and Amy are new residents of Silver City, New Mexico, where they purchased the Ashton House in 2018 and have worked to make it a lovely, welcoming home. Bob is a physician assistant and PA educator who grew up in Los Alamos, NM and had always yearned to return to his favorite state. Amy has nearly twenty years of B&B ownership experience in Maine. Her parents were both artists, art gallery owners, and art collectors and she has inherited a large art collection that she has on display in the Ashton House, as well as some works she has done herself. She is also the author of a memoir (entitled Flat Ass Calm and available on Amazon) of her somewhat chaotic early life growing up during the turbulent '60s and '70s and her experiences homesteading on a small Maine island. Bob and Amy chose Silver City for its wonderful climate, vibrant community, and incredible wilderness nearby.
