The space
New Hot tub 2026!! Get ready to unwind in luxury under the stars!
**PLEASE NOTE: for winter bookings, you MUST have a 4 wheel drive (AWD) vehicle. We plow and sand regularly, but there are steep inclines that require AWD when snow is on the road, typically late November through March.** During the warm months, any car will do great! We drive a low clearance hybrid car very easily in the summer & fall.
We searched for 7 years to find the perfect place to move to from Colorado, and the moment we saw this cabin, we knew this was it! It is THE dream cabin. It has all of the modern amenities you could want, including crisp summertime AC, cozy heat, and fast WiFi, but with the rustic coziness you dream of for a cabin getaway in the woods.
The bedroom is in the upstairs loft that is open to the main floor. It does not have its own door. It has a very comfy queen mattress. The sofa folds out into a full sized bed.
Our private 70 acres also backs to hundreds of undeveloped acres for abundant hiking and outdoor opportunities. Snow shoeing is a wonderful activities for the trails.
There is a 2nd Airbnb on the property (The Hygge Loft). It shares a driveway with the cabin, but all outdoor spaces are private from each other and no indoor or outdoor living spaces are shared. The host home is also up the hill on the same property. The cabin is on a private and secluded road, yet only 15-20 minutes from one of our favorite restaurants in Hoosick Falls, and 20-35 minutes to many other restaurants, museums, lakes, and fun places to visit in Bennington, Manchester, Arlington, Dorset, and all that the Shires of Vermont has to offer.
Ultra fast fiber optic internet is now installed!. There is usually little to no cell reception on the property, but you may use WIFI calling if your cell phone has that option. There is a large TV and blu-ray/DVD player with Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon apps that you may use your own account with, as well as several local channels. There is NO
cable tv. There are also several board games, DVDs, and books & magazines available for your enjoyment.
The kitchen has both a Keurig and regular coffee maker, as well as lots of kitchen items like muffin tins, baking sheets, and cookware. Keurig coffee, tea, sugar, flour, spices, and condiments are provided.
There is a bathroom with a shower, soap, shampoo and conditioner.
Fresh linens and towels, extra pillows, and cozy blankets are provided. Firewood is also provided, but please try to limit it to 10 logs per day to ensure enough firewood for all guests.

The driveway up from the main road is about .6 miles long and uphill to the cabin. The remaining roads to get to the cabin are county-maintained roads with regular plowing and grading. Your hosts plow and sand the remaining driveway.

There is a circle driveway that leads to the front of the main log cabin. The driveway is shared with The Hygge Loft Airbnb but it has its own parking area.
There is a turnout for overnight parking, or you may park on the circle drive. Please DO NOT move the birch logs that act as a blockade to the walking path. There is underground plumbing there that can be damaged by the weight of cars. Thank you!
The host's home is nearby, just farther up a Y in the road, and we are always happy to help with anything you might need during your stay. We value our guests’ privacy and you will rarely, if ever, see us unless you'd like to meet us or need anything.

The cabin sits on the side of West Mountain on the very end of a dirt road on 70 privately owned acres with hundreds of acres surrounding it that are undeveloped and available for hiking and exploring. There is a 2nd Airbnb (the Hygge Loft) on the property as well. It shares a driveway with the cabin, but the parking and outdoor spaces are private from each other and no indoor space is shared.
There are endless places to explore on and around the property and the private trails leading to the rivers and streams on the property are worth the walk!
There are also many activities and attractions nearby such as fishing or boating at Lake Shaftsbury State Park, visiting the Bennington Museum, Battle Monument, the Chocolate Barn, ice cream shops, Manchester Village with the Northshire Bookstore, Lincoln's Hildene, Orivs, Mount Equinox, Grandma Moses' Farm and Will Moses gallery, great coffee shops, endless farmstands and antique shops, Vermont covered bridges, Cambridge NY and the New Skete monastery (where you can purchase their famous cheesecake), berry and apple picking, farms, and the list goes on and on.
We provide a guide to all of our favorite restaurants and fun places to visit in the area. There is so much fun to be had! But a lot of people book the cabin, planning on outings and adventures, but are so in love with the cabin that they decide to stay in and cozy up instead :) Whatever you choose and whatever the weather, it's always a great time to stay at the cabin!
In wintertime, there are excellent places to snowshoe and cross country ski right on the property, and the cabin is about 40 minutes to Bromley Mountain and an hour to Mount Snow downhill ski areas.
The host's home is up the hill from the cabin on the same 70 acre property. The host house is tall and in the summertime with leaf cover is almost completely obscured from the cabin, but in the wintertime with bare branches, the host house can be seen from the driveway/walkway and from the front door of the cabin, but the remaining cabin window views are very private and out toward the mountains & forests. There are privacy blinds if desired as well, and we cannot see down to the cabins from the host house even in winter.
