Location

Avoca Beach, New South Wales, Australia

My recommendations are the quirky little Avoca Beach Picture Theatre - a must see venue with the latest in art and mainstream films. They also host regular concert events, and have a great gift shop. It’s just a walk down the road near the beach. Mention my name to the owners Norman and Beth and they will look after you.

The award winning Avoca Beachside Markets are not only famous for their eclectic and bohemian range of things, but also their fine food and live music. Situated right next to the lagoon on the oval there is always a beautiful fresh breeze blowing and a wonderful sense of community that you can feel. The fourth Sunday of each month at Heazlett Park Foreshore.

Every Thursday night is the live jazz scene for Avoca at the Pizza and pasta restaurant in the village.

The surf club restaurant, Jaws, is open for business most nights (except Monday) with a spectacular view overlooking the beach, and during the day The Point Café situated right on the beach under the Surf Club is a great place for breakfast and lunch. 8am every morning The Lizards just outside the Point Café, under the tree, meet to do their rock swim. So if you feel like being daring and diving off the rocks with the Lizards community of Avoca head down there by 8am and they will welcome you with open arms.

If you stroll into the village for dinner you can choose from Thai, Indian, Chinese, and Malaysian.

For your gluten free whole foods check out Wise Food Café, and for a middle eastern inspired dinner check out Mosaic.

My favourite very hip and funky place is Like Minds café hosted by Mel and Jimmy. Opposite the yellow scout club (as you drive into Avoca), Like Minds has great coffee, excellent vibes, and its own veggie garden. A very natural earthy hipster feel to the place and food.

Bombini’s is a great Italian Restaurant on the corner of Avoca Drive, just as you are on the home stretch driving into Avoca. Great atmosphere, food and gardens, Bombini’s is the central coast’s leader in contemporary Italian Cuisine.

I love cooking myself and I have designed my own trail mix – in de Vilderness Trail Mix which is made up of a middle eastern influence in flavours. I hope you enjoy it. I have left a jar for you to nibble on in your welcome hamper. There is also my home made muesli and fresh eggs for your breakfast in the welcome basket .
