Settle into country life in our refurbished Farmhouse. With rustic country decor and vintage furniture throughout. All rooms have double aspect views over the surrounding village or our magical garden.
This is our home and our little piece of paradise.
Please contact me for a virtual tour or more information.

The space
Our well equipped farmhouse has 4 spacious bedrooms (2 masters with en-suite bathroom & rain showers), plenty of space to lounge by the fires & a large games barn (only suggested to use in summer). The 2 master suites, on the first floor, have HUGE, comfortable beds both with en-suite bathrooms while the loft rooms share a spa bath and toilet on the top floor. The loft is where the kids usually sleep. One room has a double bed. The second loft room has a ‘toddler bed’ (175cm long instead of the standard 190cm) and a single (raised with a desk underneath).

The ‘games barn’ is attached to the kitchen and can become one large entertaining space. PLEASE note that the BARN is not insulated so is affected by the weather in the winter months. The barn is also very ‘rustic’ and has not been renovated but people love that it is original and feels part of the home. The barn has couches, pool table, shuffle board & darts.

There is also a large kitchen diner, dining room (with fireplace) & lounge area (with fireplace).

We have super fast WiFi and plenty of spots to set up an office.. most desks are by a large window with beautiful views.

We have a lovely garden with lots of spots to sit and ponder life or a wonderful mud kitchen for any younger visitors to explore/play. By the house we have a table and chairs plus the fire pit bbq (byo bbq fuel/coals) for summer days cooking or chilly nights chatting. Due to the wonderful position of our house (we are at the top of the village) and the well placed trees/bushes, we are completely private with no neighbours able to see into our little oasis. Once you are here you will feel a million miles away with complete silence except for the birds in the trees.

My husband and I live here with our two kids; 6 & 8 years old. We moved here, from london, a couple of years ago so can give advice on what’s happening or recommendations for anything you might want to do.

PLEASE NOTE: this is our HOME but we are often travelling to Dorset for work. DUE to the current ‘VIRUS’ situation I’ve left (at least) 2 days between bookings so the cleaners have time to give everything a good sanitise and air out the house (I am not charging for the extra hours of cleaning). If ever there are dates that you need but are not available - please send me a message. Our travel can be amended to your needs. If you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Guest access
NOTE; we are on a hill and there is a stone wall with a drop on the other side. This is why we have not recommended our house as a place for infants or pets. Please message to discuss further. I have a travel cot so a baby would be fine here - it’s just small toddlers that could be a problem with the tv on a stand and possibly climbing by the wall.

We charge a security deposit for this booking because of the equipment in the games room plus the DJ equipment in the dining room.

Other things to note
This is our HOME.. I have set the price at a reasonable rate because I would like some lovely guests to come and enjoy our home while we are not able to be there.

I’d love you to contact me if you require more photos, information, or have any other questions.

Balscote is a sleepy village with a local pub (that opens very strange hours) and a church. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area if relaxing/sleeping/walking is not high on your agenda.

Accross the village green there is a walk to a small stream and two large tree swings. My kids describe this place as ‘magical’ and my friends daughter says, “this place (village) is exactly like my fairy garden”

There are lots of local ‘hotspots’ close by and most places seem to be 10 to 40min away. We have plenty of walks around Balscote.

Please note: the closest shop is in 10min away in Banbury or Bloxham so come prepared. There is a wonderful butcher/farm shop in Warrington (8 min drive) but they don’t sell newspapers or wine.

Hi there, I’m an Australian living in the Cotswolds (close enough) with my Essex born husband & our two kids. We moved to this area 5 years ago after 15 years in London. Our renovated Farmhouse is a beautiful space that we look forward to sharing with others.. every now and again.
