Spacious, self contained, newly refurbished farmhouse wing in a secluded village with fantastic views of the estuary and beyond. Separate garden and BBQ area, fully fitted kitchen, modern shower room, large lounge with TV, double bedroom, with king size bed, TV and rustic beams. Relax in the garden, explore the local area. Walk, run, cycle, golf , swim, surf. Amazing beaches, dunes, moorland, rolling hills, rugged coastline, a short drive away. Just a mile from the Tarka Trail cycle route.

The space
The Granary is part of an old farmhouse ( no longer a working farm) but we do keep some poultry. Newly laid eggs are available (if the hens oblige!) It is situated off the country roads and overlooks the ever changing estuary. There are views out to the sea and across to Appledore and Hartland.

Where you’ll be

Ashford, England, United Kingdom

We are situated at the top of the quiet village of Ashford. There are pleasant countryside walks in all directions from the house. We are just a mile from the Tarka Trail, famous for cycling, walking and running. On this trail you can access Instow, Bideford and Torrington one way and Braunton Burrows the other. Stopping off for refreshments and more en route. Climbing, canoeing, coasteering, surfing, kite surfing, paddleboarding, etc are all favourite sports available locally from our many beaches. Golf is close by at the famous Saunton Golf Club. Also boat trips around the spectacular coastline (including Lundy Island) and fishing are available from nearby Ilfracombe. Breathtaking coastal walks offer opportunities to see the local birds and sea life.

We've lived in this lovely village for the last forty years. We have plenty of local knowledge and can advise you on the best places to visit and eat during your stay. We look forward to meeting you.

During your stay

We live with our son in the adjacent farm house.
We are always available (if we are not away) to help make your stay enjoyable, although we will not intrude on your stay with us unless you need us. If you have forgotten something we most probably will have it. We have games, books, DVDs on request. We can tell you our favourite beaches, walks, places to eat etc that are not frequented by tourists. Just come and ask.
