Millburn Cottage is a traditional & quirky 3 bedroom property situated in an elevated setting. In a west facing position with sunsets and views over Loch Fyne. Semi-rural but close to the local village of Tighnabruaich with a secluded garden, wildlife and walks.

The space

It was the original Mill in Melldalloch, outside the ancient village of Kilfinan. It is in the parish records of 1642 as Dougal Blacks House & Mill. Today the cottage has been upgraded by its artistic owners and has a quirky character. The dormer rooms in the cosy upper bedrooms retain original wood panelling & provide spectacular views to Loch Fyne & beyond.
The open-plan lounge has a wood burning stove with a modern vibe. There is a bespoke free standing galley kitchen off the lounge and a modern bathroom with walk in shower. There is a large conservatory to enjoy the scenic views. The garden is large and has a wonderful variety of flowers, shrubs and wildlife. The burn which originally powered the Mill has been redirected and is now a beautiful feature of the garden. The entire garden is fenced in and is ideal for pets.

Guest access

The cottage and the private, secluded and enclosed garden. Tighnabruaich & the adjoining Kames is located 4 miles away and Kilfinan Hotel is 2 miles from the cottage. Otter Ferry- Pub on the Beach is a 7 mile drive. The cottage is approximately 2 hours drive from Glasgow

Millburn Cottage and Amanda's attention to detail far exceeded our expectations. Within five minutes of arrival we were already pondering when we could come and stay again. The location is beautiful and with the convenience of being near to the Tarbert ferry in Portavadie provided an excellent place from which to explore Argyll. The house is cosy and inviting and full of delightful bits and bobs to entertain the eye... We live in a traditional Hebridean Cottage and came a way inspired by what has been achieved with reimagining what a Scottish cottage could look like. We didn't want to leave and we hope to be back soon. Thanks so much!

For anyone wanting to get away this cottage is perfect. It has wonderful charm and character with lots of little personal touches. We really enjoyed returning to the cottage after a bracing winter walk and warming up in front of the fire. Amanda was courteous and responsive at all times. Would love to return.

We have just had a wonderful week in Amanda's cottage. The location was beautiful and tranquil. The cottage was lovely and had everything we needed for the week. The goodies Amanda left for us were great and much appreciated. The area is peaceful (which is what we wanted) but there are plenty of walks to be had and places to visit. We would highly recommend a stay in Amanda's cottage!

Fantastic cottage. We loved that it was in a quiet location and loved the many walks available in the area. Amanda kindly left us a few delicious treats and lots of information about the surrounding area. The cottage is dog friendly although you wouldn't know a dog had ever been in there. Thanks again to Amanda for letting us stay in her cottage, it felt like our home for the week! We will definitely return to explore the area even more!

Millburn Cottage gave us a most wonderful and much-needed short break in Scotland. It felt like home from home, in the most stunning countryside with lots of great walks by the water and in the forests. We can't wait to come back, it was everything we had hoped for and more!

Lovely cottage, we were made to feel right at home. Beautiful surroundings with stunning views. Well equiped house, we loved having both indoor and outdoor fires. Lots of birds and wildlife to watch in the garden. Great location to see the sights of Argyll's secret coast! We would highly recommend it.

I am a female in my forties and I am from Glasgow. I work in education and I have a background in the arts and community education. My Husband and I have been renovating our second home over the past few years. We both went to Art School and have an eclectic style, love found objects and we hope that you will love our cottage and its quirkiness.
