Enjoy the beauty of Vermont in this private guest suite on 10 stunning acres at the foot of the Green Mountains. You'll be walking distance to Chester's Village Green and only minutes to Ludlow and Okemo Mountain Resort. Panoramic mountain views, wildflower meadows, private access to the Williams River, nature trails, and three private ponds are yours to explore. Need to store your ski gear? No problem! The barn has plenty of space. Friendly dogs are welcome!

The space
Your guest suite is a completely private section of our primary residence, separated from the main house with a locking door and with a separate entrance and parking. The large bedroom includes a queen bed, walk in closet with shelving and hangers, and a sitting area. There is a ceiling fan, a window AC unit, and in the cooler months you have a thermostat to control the heat. The bathroom was renovated in 2018 and includes granite countertops, custom vanity, and a walk in shower. We are fortunate to have super fast VTel fiber optic internet so getting a little work done or streaming a movie after a day of hiking or skiing is a breeze.

In addition to the suite, you will have access to our ten amazing acres of meadows, ponds, forest, and the Williams River. There are nature trails on the property and the ponds are beautiful to walk around or picnic near. There is almost always something blooming in the warmer months and the rolling terrain makes for great sledding or snowshoeing in winter. Access to the river is at your own risk and your safety is very important to us so please exercise caution and if you have questions please don't hesitate to ask.

The fence around the garden is electrified - please do not approach the fence or enter the garden. If you are interested in a farm experience let us know - we'd be happy to show you around and if you visit in summer there may be blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, grapes, or peaches in it for you :)

All guests are expected to clean up after their pets and be respectful and considerate of our home and property.

Where you’ll be

Chester, Vermont, United States

Chester is "the Vermont you've been looking for." It's a small town with a picturesque Main Street with shops, several restaurants, and a great wine/beer store on the town green. We are 18 minutes from Okemo or Magic Mountain (49 minutes to Killington) for skiing in the winter and there are amazing hikes for all skill levels nearby. The Vermont Country Store and Brockways Mills Falls are just a few minutes up the road and there are lots of small local farms and sugar houses offering all the best Vermont agriculture has to offer.

My world basically revolves around food: growing it, cooking it, preserving it, and of course, eating it! My husband and I love exploring the outdoors, traveling with our two lazy Greyhounds, and learning new things. My motto is: Always be humble and kind, and make your pie crust from scratch. As guests, we are quiet, respectful, and clean...and grateful to be able to experience the places we travel as a local would rather than at an impersonal chain hotel. Thank you for sharing your home with us! As hosts, we want to share our comfortable, restful home and extraordinary property with guests from all walks of life who are also quiet, respectful, and clean. We love meeting new people and are happy to put together experiences as our schedules permit but we also totally respect our guests' privacy if you would prefer to just do your own thing.

During your stay

This is our primary residence and we will be around mornings and evenings and on weekends and are more than happy to have as much or as little interaction as you'd like. We are starting a farm on the property so it's likely you will see us down by the garden or maintaining the property. Depending on the time of your visit we may have fresh produce to share!
