Our Roots is set within the rugged beauty of a wildlife conservancy known as Marloth Park on the banks of the Crocodile River, which forms the border between Marloth Park and the world renowned Kruger National Park, between Malelane and Komatipoort in the Province of Mpumalanga, South Africa. This is a charming double storey, thatched house with 2 bedrooms and an additional loft bedroom fitted with most mod-cons and comfortable outdoor spaces to make for a breakaway of absolute relaxation.

The space
Being a wildlife conservancy, guests will have exclusive and unique game-viewing opportunities, literally on your doorstep. The Crocodile Bridge Gate to the Kruger National Park is a mere 25km away from the house which offers even more opportunities for a game-viewing experience unique to South Africa.

This really is an experience of tranquility and reconnecting with nature away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Peace and quiet are at the order of the day unlike a typical holiday resort and for that reason we kindly request that you familiarise yourself with the rules of the park which are available in an information folder in the house, alternatively, we can share that with you prior to your arrival should you wish. Kindly note that no exceptions whatsoever will be made to the maximum capacity of 6 people, children included, that the house can accommodate.

Other things to note
The house is relatively compact and for that reason we are unable to accommodate any more than 6 people, whether the 7th person's is a child or not. Strictly maximum 6 people.

We reserve the right to cancel the reservation on your arrival or charge an additional ZAR500 per person per night, should more guests ( children included) than what was confirmed in the reservation on Airbnb arrive on check-in.

Location

Marloth Park, Mpumalanga, South Africa

Notwithstanding the convenient location for entering the Kruger National Park for a day trip, a drive through the roads of Marloth Park will offer many sightings. You may even be lucky and get to see the beautiful giraffes that roam in certain parts of the park. There is also a viewing point on the fence on the banks of the Crocodile River overlooking the Kruger National Park and various other seating areas scattered along the fence, which runs parallel with Seekoei Road.
There are various lodges and restaurants throughout the park should you want to go out for a meal including, Jabula Lodge, Phumula Kruger Lodge, Tin Shack and the Amazing River View Restaurant which is set in a particularly beautiful setting with spectacular views of the Crocodile River and Kruger National Park. The restaurant has a vast menu and serves home cooked meals throughout the day and is the perfect place to go and enjoy a cocktail at sunset.
A map of the park is available in the information folder in the house to guide you on your travels in the park.
Ngwenya Lodge, situated approximately 9km outside of Marloth Park on the road to Komatipoort, also boasts a lovely restaurant in a beautiful setting, also on the banks of the Crocodile River with stunning view of the Kruger National Park.
