Come back to the joys of childhood and the simple life in this one of a kind custom designed off-grid tree house hidden in a private area surrounded by water and 100 acres of deep forest! Enjoy the sounds and views of bullfrogs, songbirds, turtles, squirrels, and wolves as you dose off into nature's sanctuary.

The space
The inside is made of rustic pine and white oak boards with over 330 square feet of custom wood work. There is also a wood stove inside the tree house for a 4 season experience!

The tree house is 9 feet off the ground and a perfect arena to unplug and spend some time living simply with nature sounds, smells and animals. We provide board games, a quiet setting with a beautiful view and sounds of the pond. You are welcome to use the canoe provided.

Guest access
You can access all indoor and outdoor areas around the treehouse.

Winter - access 100 acres of forest with cross country skis and/or snowshoes!
Summer - You have access to a canoe , paddles and lifejackets in the summer.

Other things to note
Please note the property is entirely off grid. No power or central water. Experience with wood stoves in mandatory in the fall/winter. Please do not book unless you can start and stoke a fire , google will not help you in the woods.

A simple hand washing / drinking station is provided on site with unlimited water refills. There is no electricity. It is a space to go to unplug. You are welcome to charge your electronics with portable chargers or at our home.

The bathroom is a composting toilet a short 3 minute walk away. An outdoor (summer only) shower is located there as well, the stream is light.

There is cellphone service, however. Lights are dim and battery operated, easy to use with remote control or click-on. You need headlamps for outdoors.

Summertime is bug season - bring natural bug spray

The area is close to quaint towns to explore like Almonte and Carp. Surroundings are mostly farmland and homes. Carp Farmer's market is a popular destination Saturday mornings in the summer time and Cheshire Cat Pub is the closest local pub with great food that's always packed all season long. Closest grocery store is in Sobeys in Stittsville or Independent in Almonte. Equator Coffee shop and Dandelion foods are my favourite places to go in Almonte for natural foods and coffee/snacks.

Here are my top picks of the area:

1.) Cheshire Cat Pub (very good pub food)

2.) Blakeney Rapids Lanark (beautiful spot for trails beside the town of Almonte)

3.) Pakenham Falls (very close to Almonte and well worth checking out to sit under the waterfalls, good spots for fishing also)

3.) Carp Creamery (for home made ice cream)

4.) Stan's Putt Putt Land (nice space for some mini-golf)
