The space
When you arrive at Orca’s Play you notice the 600’ private, hedge lined driveway down to the edge of the ocean where you first see your luxury guest space . Your first impression on arriving at this secluded, Brand New West Coast Contemporary guest space is ‘This is truly a Special Place’ - private ocean front area, with extensive use of cedar - natural stone and other natural materials. Your personal parking is right beside your space. Checking in is so easy as there is an eye level lock box at your fingertips. When you enter "Oceans Edge" Guest Space, you are impressed with the breathtaking ocean front and the contemporary vaulted cedar ceiling. The temperature is just right in here, thanks to the (a/c, heat pump, gas fireplace) and look you can control the temperature to just how you like it. Perhaps you would like to freshen up after your trip, so you walk through the 8’ high Solid Fir door to the luxury master bathroom with live edge maple countertops and double vanities – wait are those heated, real marble floors I feel under my feet? Ahhh! And there is even a separate toilet room – perfect. Got a sore back from traveling? No worries – reach for your personal bath robes and spa towels and step out to your private spa for a soothing soak with a view. Shhhh – what’s that spray? Is it an orca? OMG! It’s a whole pod! WOW! Look - there’s a cruise ship – see all this from the comfort of your personal spa. After a therapeutic soak why not head over to the sandy beach and grab a kayak – the water looks so pristine and inviting – it’s crystal clear!

Listen to the gentle sound of waves rolling in. What’s that splashing in the water? – oh that’s just Sammy and Sally, our local seals - be sure to say hi to them - you will know which one they are if they turn and look at you when you call their name :). If you’re quiet and don’t approach him (he’s very shy) you may even be lucky enough to see the silhouette of Harry, our resident heron fishing patiently on the rocks. Look - did you see that! There’s an eagle catching a fish in the famous Frenchman’s Pool directly in front of Orca’s Play. Spectacular! Did you know that on August 13, 1983 a 62 lb Tyee King Salmon was caught in Frenchman’s Pool and 13 days later another one weighing 61 lbs (and guys eat your hearts out - both were caught by women).

Well time to head back to your suite and kick back on the reclining leather sofa and perhaps read a book – that is if you can take your eyes off the dynamically ever-changing view of ‘Tugboat Alley’ long enough….

When you're ready to retire for the evening - relax on an amazing Sleep Number King Size Bed complete with luxury linens – guaranteed to give you a perfect sleep every time! Need to freshen up your clothes – no problem – there is a private, complimentary washer and dryer in your space.

Good morning! Enjoy your morning coffee with a view. Need to grab a few groceries or some fresh local seafoods to grill on your personal BBQ? No worries - several grocery stores are only 6 minutes away for a quick restock. There is even a liquor store just one minute away that’s open late, 7 days a week. The local government wharf has a sea monger for fresh seafood right out of the Pacific Ocean – just 10 minutes away. There is a gourmet restaurant within walking distance for fabulous breakfasts and dinners - Anglers' Restaurant at Dolphin’s Resort, as well as a number of restaurants within 5 – 10 minute drive or order out from one of the many other local restaurants and do what we call a “Staycation”. (Who wants to eat anywhere else :)

The residences at Orca’s Play features 240’ of beachfront on the ever changing Discovery Channel in the Salish Sea, where you will both see and hear, majestic orcas and humpback whales, curious seals & sea lions, dolphins splashing, bald eagles soaring, as well as deer and other wildlife. (We jokingly say at times 'welcome to our National Park') In the months of May to October watch luxurious cruise ships pass by.

Storm watching is great in the winter months - you will see ships and tugboats fight their way through the wind & waves as they pass by through the mist.

During winter months you can golf in the morning, then drive 45 mins and ski at world famous Mt Washington, then return to your personal Spa to relax those muscles, which feels especially good during the winter months.

See you soon!!
