Savour the local cuisine at "The Pantry", a local restaurant only a 5 minute walk from your rental. 15 minutes to the 1km Sandy Cove Beach, 42 km to Fortune, the gateway to the French Islands of Saint Pierre & Miquelon. 20 minutes from St. Lawrence where you can have a guided tour of Chambers Cove (the site of the wrecks of the Truxtun & Pollux). Visit the Miner's Museum, take a hike to "Chapeau Rouge", visit the umbrella tree in Herring Cove. We are 66 km from Marystown , the central shopping area. Local beaches such as "the Strand" in Point-Aux Gaul", Sandy Cove, Pump Cove, Shoal Cove and Blue Beach are just a few minutes away. Visit local lighthouses in Lamaline (Allan's Island), Saint Lawrence and Fortune. Go bakeapple, blueberry and partridgeberry picking (seasons from July to September). Pick mussels or periwinkles when the tide goes out. Cook them over an open fire with driftwood collected on the beach. Go trouting (fishing) at any of our local ponds.
