Other things to note
Samuels Boutique Hotel is built within the walls of a historic landmark since 1860, the very first school built in Saltford. The original red brick wall and crafted ceiling are present in Samuels Boutique Hotel to this day for guests to admire.

The "Samuels" name originates from two extraordinary men that grew up in Goderich. Samuel Bisset - The first local dairy farmer in Ontario to bottle and distribute milk in glass bottles. A Bisset milk bottle can now fetch up to $1000 a piece.
Samuel Platt - The man that discovered salt brine while drilling in search of oil. The Sifto Salt Mine in Goderich is the largest salt mine in the world. The mine is as deep under the lake as the height of the CN Tower.

Location

Goderich, Ontario, Canada

Goderich was once described as “the prettiest town in Canada” by Queen Elizabeth due to its charming presence and historic character. The town offers multiple trails and boardwalks for nature lovers, sandy beaches along the Lake Huron coast for beach-goers and a beautiful West Coast sunset that will take your breath away.
Set on bluffs overlooking Lake Huron, the town is home to three beaches including a long boardwalk that runs along its shoreline. A perfect setting for a long walk or a bike ride. Goderich’s picturesque downtown area is designed in an octagon, surrounded by charming shops, 19th-century buildings and historic sites, giving it a cozy European feel. The square offers numerous events throughout the year. You can catch a farmers’ market on Saturday, a flea market on Sunday, as well as regular live music events. A charming small town worth the road trip!
