Join us in beautiful Abruzzo for the perfect holiday! Abruzzo is the "green heart of Italy" with something for everyone.

Our 300 year old beautiful stone 'casale' (farmhouse) offers a fully independent converted stable apt of 150 sm and is restored with all modern conveniences. The apartment still has the original stone and brick archways & hand made brick floors - you can see the hand prints of the brick masons still embedded in the bricks! Private garden and view to mountains.

The space
The house is peaceful and quiet, but not remote. The medieval town of Guardiagrele (voted "one of the most beautiful towns in Italy) is 5 minutes drive away, you can see its old walls and homes along the skyline from the garden as the house is positioned right in Bocca di Valle (Mouth of the Valley) and receives lovely cooling breezes as you sit outside in the garden or olive grove enjoying the fresh, clean air with your aperitivo in hand!

Within a few minutes drive are the villages of Rapino and the mountaintop town of Pretoro, along with numerous others for exploring and dining. If it's a larger town you're looking for try a trip to Lanciano or Chieti. From the house you have a view of the mountains and only 40 minutes drive is the Adriatic coast with all its lovely Blue Flag beaches. Rome is 2.5 hours easy and pretty drive (or take one of the frequent buses) and the local airport in Pescara is only 40 minutes away. Pick up/drop off is available and local car rentals can be arranged. Full Covid compliance and total privacy.

Traditional restaurants abound, whether you're looking to enjoy homemade pizza or local fish, fresh-caught (a trip to one of the Trabocchi, or old fishing platforms transformed into restaurants) should not be missed. Abruzzo specializes in traditional homemade cuisine using only the freshest in-season ingredients and the local wine and olive oil are something to fill your suitcase with before you go home! You won't find anyone friendlier than the local Abruzzese and they would love to chat with you as you sit in one of the local piazzas enjoying a glass of wine even if neither of you speaks the others language!

A year-round slice of heaven, it's even possible when weather conditions are right to ski in the mountains in the morning and swim at the beach in the afternoon! Very popular is the local biking and hiking (the 2020 Giro d'Italia passed through here) and bike rentals can be arranged through a local company.

There is 1 large BR, 2 sitting rooms (1 has a large sleep sofa with a luxury mattress), a large well equipped kitchen, laundry room & bathroom with new walk-in rainfall shower. A car is necessary.

Other things to note
The apartment is on the lower floor of our farmhouse. We live upstairs, but you can have little (or no) interaction as the apartment is totally private. The local town of Guardiagrele is stringent about Covid rules.
