The space
Arrive as strangers, leave as friends!

Welcome to Winter here at Olde Farm Holiday Cottages, the days are short and the nights might be long but the frost makes everything magical in the gardens  which still teem with life as the snowdrops, crocuses and daffodils start to make their appearance,  the birds are around singing and digging for insects, the robin visits each morning waiting on the picnic table for his breakfast, the owls hunt at night and are magnificent.  The days though short can still quite warm in the bursts of Winter sunshine and the star filled night skies are just breath taking as the frosty nights ensure clear, cloudless skies.   Our hens,  ducks and the swans wander exploring and the cats and dogs lay dozing in what remains of the sunshine when not in front of our log fire, the hedgehogs are tucked up fast asleep in their houses just waiting for the Spring and the rabbits and guinea pigs are snug in their winter quarters

There is a seasonal welcome starter basket just waiting for you full of home made bread, scones, pate, jam and marmalade, local ham bacon and cheese, juice, mineral water, together with an extensive selection of teas and coffees - not to forget the flowers, Prosecco and chocolates! The fresh eggs are from our own small flock of hens and there are apples, pears, strawberries, plums and cherries to pick in season. We are also more than happy to adapt our welcome basket to fit your dietary requirements so if you want vegetarian, vegan, peanut/diary/gluten free then just let us know. If you are celebrating a birthday, anniversary or other special occasion then please tell us and we can go that extra mile for you! If you want to arrange an extra special treat for someone on arrival then again just let us know and we can work together to make your celebration even more memorable.

Set amongst working farmland and pasture our cottages form part of a barn conversion and its outbuildings which were built around 150 years ago for the farmhouse and still working farm next door - so particularly at harvest there are times when you will hear and see tractors and other farm vehicles coming and going about their business. Where we are is very 'real' rural Norfolk but it is also beautiful and uplifting and the lack of street lighting means the huge star filled skies are mesmerising - wrap up warm, sit outside in the evenings and just drink it all in.

If you are looking for high levels of quality in comfortably furnished and well equipped cottages with WIFI, Smart and Sky TV/DVD/video, Bose sound system, ceramic hob, granite worktops, combination microwave, full sized electric oven, fridge, freezer, coffee maker, food mixer, blenders and laundry facilities then we feel sure they will easily meet your requirements.

The cottage is deal for couples and families and has the facility to be linked to the main house offering accommodation for much larger groups. We also welcome pets. There are books, games and DVDs together with a large toybox to keep the little ones (or the adults) amused in the evenings or on rainy days.

Our prices are the same all year round, with no increases for the Summer, Christmas, New Year, Easter or half term breaks. We offer total flexibility and your short break can start on any day of the week with the only stipulation that you book for a minimum of two nights (three in August and at Christmas and Easter). All guests receive an extensive welcome pack of food and non-food, including local and home made produce. Treats/toys/ bowls/blankets for your pets are also included as standard.

Artists - Olde Farm Cottages have a wonderful large pond ideal for artists to capture nature at its best. There are plenty of places to set up your easel by the water to capture wildlife, seasonal flowers, the old boat and mother nature itself.

Meditation - Whether it is making the most of the peaceful pond setting or using the gazebo or large lawns, there is plenty of scope to carry out meditation, aerobics, yoga or other forms of relaxation.

Guest access
As the cottage is self-contained you will have access to all rooms and amenities - combination microwave, ceramic hob, fan assisted oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and washing machine, nespresso coffee maker, food mixer, toaster, sandwich maker - you name it I think you will find it in a cupboard! You are welcome to use any part of the gardens and outdoor gazebos and furniture. There is a large pond, fabulous to gaze out on in the morning over breakfast on the lawn, watching the resident moorhens and ducks. We have a large BBQ hut which seats 12, so no matter what the weather brings you can have a bbq in comfort! If you have friends who live locally, invite them over to join you - just let us know so that we can pre-book it for you!

Other things to note
We have tried to make our cottages the ones that we would want to stay in and we do try to go that extra mile to make sure that our guests have a wonderful stay with us. Read our reviews on Tripadvisor and in the visitor's book when you arrive.

We love the setting, the wildlife, the huge skys and the tranquility that living in our little bit of Norfolk Paradise affords us, yet we are close enough to major towns and the beautiful Norfolk Broads to make your holiday as active or tranquil as you wish. We are about a mile from the nearest shops and pubs - so close enough to walk should you seek the exercise - we can even lend you a dog to walk with you if you like:)

The Kings Head in the next village, New Buckenham does amazing food as does The Garden House here in Banham - both are within easy walking distance - just make sure you arrive hungry as the portion are substantial as well as excellent quality.

Having left the full-time 'rat race' and moved from London to Norfolk I am now working freelance as an educational consultant in HE whilst running our holiday cottage business from beautiful Norfolk. I do hope that you will come and stay with us at some point as we very much enjoy meeting new people, sharing our travel experiences and hosting guests around the table for informal suppers and lively chat.
