The Cottage consists of two bedrooms- the first offering a double bed, the second with a single suitable for a single adult or children.
The cottage also offers a small courtyard space with a table and two chairs ideal for your early morning coffee or evening glass of wine.

Location

Alton, England, United Kingdom

Alton is a beautiful village set on the edge of the Churnet Valley, from the river and disused railway track (which is a great walk to the local Farm Shop) the Gothic design of Alton Castle sets a romantic scene with magnificent views. Alton is also very well known for hosting Alton Towers, fabulous routes around the Peak district and fantastic pubs!!! Dimmingsdale and the Churnet Valley are a short walk (approx 1mile)- if you do, you must stop by at the wonderful Ramblers Retreat for a re-fuel ( lots of cake ).
Near by you can also visit the delightful market towns of Ashbourne, Bakewell, Buxton & Matlock where you can get lost exploring the vintage shops and consume endless amounts of fish & chips. The Beauty spots of the Peak District including Thorpe Cloud, Ilam, and Milldale are just a few miles away. Dovedale and the famous stepping stones are approx 10 miles away. Thor’s Cave is approx 13miles. The Potteries house the famous factories of Emma Bridgewater and Portmerion with shops available for purchasing your favourite pieces . In a short drive you can also reach the beautiful Chatsworth House, National Trust's Sudbury Hall and Shugborough Hall, which all offer great exhibitions and great days out for children. The Cottage itself is within walking distance to wonderful village pubs including The Bridge, and The Talbot Inn. (Most pubs in the village are dog friendly). The Bulls Head also offers a delicious Smokehouse & Pizzeria menu, and most pubs offer a take out service if required. Alton also offers a village shop and post office.

I host my little cottage in the heart of the village of Alton. I actually got married at the historic Alton Castle a few years ago so the village has a huge place in my heart. Also the pubs are amazing!!! I hope you enjoy your stay and adore the cottage as much as I do. When travelling I love to explore new places with my little family :-)
