You will also find the Aultbea Hotel which welcomes non-residents for meals and refreshing drinks. There is also a mini-mart with a recently added delicatessen. Further along the coast at Mellon Charles you will find the Perfume Studio and cafe showcasing an array of locally produced goods and hot meals, cakes and snacks.
The beautiful Inverewe Gardens are nearby at Poolewe where White tailed eagles, herons and buzzards are often seen overhead. In the town of Gairloch, from the harbour, you can take a ride in a glass bottomed boat, go in search of whales and dolphins and experience the local wildlife through a highly knowledgeable local marine biologist and his boat.
Gairloch village has a Fish and Chip shop, a Chinese takeaway, a butcher’s, a fabulous bookshop with a cafe, a couple of hotels and restaurants for excellent meals including The Old Inn.
A little further a field but well worth making the effort for are the beautiful vast sandy beaches of Redpoint and the exquisite food at the Badachro Inn with incredible views across the water.
