Viscari is a small and enchanting village carved out of ancient caves that were used in ancient times for the seasonal migration of livestock.
The dwelling place (home/villa), immersed in the nature with a breathtaking view, an ideal place to relax
The building is an old mountain house above Scopello, completely restored recently. It's surrounded by nature. The place is very quiet and calm. It's around 5 km away from the nearest town. The house can host 8/9 people and is heated with two wood stoves. It is composed of two different corps. The day space with kitchen, sofà, table, wood oven, fireplace and wood stove and a bath with wasching machine. In the kitchen there's also a single bed. Then you pass trought a little terrazza where is possible to have meal and go in the night space. A big room with a double bunk bed (4people to sleep) with the possibility of adding a cot and the bath with the shower. On the second floor you find another room with a mezzanine where we have the possibility to host three/four person. Also in this room we can add a cot . At the end you find two beautiful terrazzas in a rock garden with a wonderfull view of the sea where you can have sun and shower.
The water is not drinkable (as is usually the case in Sicily).
Internet wifi is not good because of the mountain.
Garden and terrazzas with barbecue and entire house with possibility of little bed for baby and highchair.
Interaction with guests
I'll meet you at your arrive and explain everything about the house and suggest place to visit if you request. I don't live there but for any problem you can call me or text me i will help.
Other things to note
Visicari is an ideal place for you to find the peace and tranquility of the countryside while being within a short distance of the most beautiful local seaside areas such as the beach of Guidaloca, the rocks of Scopello, the Zingaro Nature Reserve and the snow white beaches of San Vito lo Capo. The best period to visit Sicily is may/june or september/october, less hot and busy you can have your best time in Sicily.
The respect of places and people is welcome, to allow everyone a holiday of peace and relaxation.
Smoking inside the house is not allowed, you can go in the garden or on the terrace to smoke.
The water is not drinkable but there is a drinking fountain nearby.
In winter the house is heated by two wood stoves. The cost of wood is extra and to be agreed before arrival.
The wifi is shared with the house next door, because of the mountain behind us, the signal is not so good.
Do not waste water, it does not come directly from the town but we have to buy it and bring it with the tanker. The car is essential, parking is free. Please do not use the extra that I keep in the house for the next guests. If you need more just ask and I'll give you for an extra paying . Take care of the places and things thath you use.
Hi, my name is Elena. I trained as a psychologist and I hand-make dolls as a passion. During university I was sharing a large house and when my flat-mates decided to leave, instead of finding a new home, I decided to find new friends, welcoming guests from all over the world! Given my love of meeting new people, over time accommodation management has become my main occupation.
I look after a number of second homes for friends who prefer not to leave them empty when they are away. Furthermore, this year a group of friends and I have set up a cooperative, SpazioLibero Community, to help local authorities manage confiscated properties. Now we have more houses for visitors to come and stay in and so hope to also create some work opportunities for young people in this beautiful but difficult land that is Sicily. The online response we’ve received has been really positive, which is very rewarding! Please carefully read the detailed descriptions of the various lodgings on offer and try to always leave reviews that may help us improve and enlarge our “family”, it's a good way to say thanks for the hospitality.
Looking forward to welcoming you,
Elena and the SpazioLibero Community.
