The SUNRISE Suite is one of three at Jackson Family Farmstay (check out our SUNSET/BARN units) located on 60 acre organic fruit farm near the darling town of Kingsburg and short drive to King’s Canyon/Sequoia Nat. Parks. This compact, two-story unit has one queen bed in loft and one twin daybed in same room, full bath, kitchenette, and small balcony overlooking the King’s River and organic orchards. Breakfast items are provided in room on the first day. Pool (May-Oct), tennis, and basketball.

The space
Come to our peaceful organic farm and experience the beauty of nature that will refresh your soul. Sit on the balcony and unwind while you look out over acres of fruit orchards and listen to a large variety of birds.
During your stay, you can sleep in a comfy bed and wake up with fresh ground coffee! Peruse the Swedish town of Kingsburg with its quaint local shops and tasty eateries. Venture 1.25 hours up to King’s Canyon/Sequoia National Parks in the Sierra’s to see the biggest trees in the world!
Or stay put on the farm and enjoy the pool, tennis court, or a game of half court basketball. Your body will relax and your spirit will be refreshed as you spend time at the Jackson Family Farmstay!

The beautiful King’s River sends its clear, snow melted waters down from the High Sierra’s past our property and our 400 year old River Oak trees to irrigate farms all over the San Joaquin Valley. On normal years the river is continuously running, but as California has been experiencing extensive drought this year, the river ran by our place through the month of August. The riverbed is now dry, a huge sandbox where our grandchildren and guests like to explore. We are thankful for every day the river flows and hopeful for more rainfall in the future. Good management of our water resources will help farmers provide delicious food for people all over the world. The well water coming out of the tap in your room is clean and delicious after flowing from the high mountains and sifting through many layers of sand. It is tested for purity, so enjoy!

Although we are actually a working fruit farm and not a resort (we don’t offer 24 hour front desk service, free flowing ice or TV), you will find yourself disconnecting from stress and reconnecting with nature in a way that rejuvenates you. It is our aim to provide an atmosphere where you will experience deep rest for you body and soul as you spend time at the Jackson Family Farmstay! We look forward to hosting you!

Hi! We are Rob and Sarah Jackson who live in Central California and own an organic farm on the banks of the King’s River, where we grow many varieties of fruit from peaches and plums to apples and mandarins. We also have a few angus cows, and a myriad of cats, an energetic cow-dog named Blu, and various river wildlife like coyotes, foxes, and raccoons that visit our farm on a regular basis. The birdlife along the river and in the gardens is quite diverse, from Great blue herons, white egrets, a myriad of ducks and water fowl along with tiny finches and glittering hummingbirds. This year was the first time our neck of the river became home to a bald eagle! You can visit our farm, too, and stay in our Jackson Family Farmstay, found on airbnb. We have been married for 33 years and have 5 wonderful kids, ranging in age from 19-32, and 2 beautiful granddaughters and 2 energetic grandsons, born to our daughter, an ER nurse, and her husband, a medical doctor, who live in a neighboring town. Our next daughter is a licensed hospital social worker living in the heart of LA with her husband and together they are very creative in music, science fiction authorship, and the arts. They love living in DTLA. Our oldest son finished working at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) in Washington, DC, with one of the undersecretaries of Agriculture as a legislative liaison for the Forest Service, facilitating communication between the USDA, the White House, and the Congress. He is now back in the valley as the Executive Director of our newest business venture, Yosemite Clean, an energy company extracting green hydrogen from the abundance of waste-wood (from the ag industry as a hard to dispose of bi-product and also from the forests in California, where it results in great forest fire risk). Our 3rd daughter graduated from college in Costa Mesa, got married to a wonderful man and is starting a business with a desire to see people empowered in the process. Her husband is the marketing manager for Yosemite Clean. Our 19 year old son is at Biola University studying Chemical Engineering and part of the Track team, after an amazing high school football career. He will finish up the chemical part of his engineering degree at USC. He was homeschooled thru 8th grade in the classical style (just like all of his siblings). He enjoys playing the piano and guitar as well. We have been a family that works hard together, loves to learn together, and finds joy in traveling anywhere together. Our house is full of books and people, coming and going from all parts of the globe. We enjoy cooking and eating together around our large dining room table. A model for our family is that we are "blessed to be a blessing."

During your stay

Interaction with our guests depends on our availability and their desires. Some guests like to have a very private retreat, while others appreciate more interaction, especially as they experience organic farm life. We try to be sensitive to the needs of our guests. Some seasons of the year find us very busy with harvest and not as available for guest interaction. Rob offers complimentary farm tours to all guests who would like to learn more about the workings of the organic farm.
