**IMPORTANT: please be aware that Rum Bridge is entirely ‘off-grid’, meaning the quality of lighting – both in the pods and tents, and site-wide - will vary with the prevailing conditions.**

Other things to note
To make Rum Bridge as affordable as possible, we allow guests to book our accommodation only, and to supply their own bedding, towels, etc. We also offer an optional bedding package – including sheets, pillows, a duvet and cover – on request, at a cost of £6 / single, £12 / double for the duration of your stay.

You may also wish to take advantage of the following options and extras, all of which are designed to make your break as relaxing and enjoyable as possible…

**BBQ / firepit package**
Guests who prefer to dine al fresco have the option either to bring their own camping stove, or to rent a fire pit with grill or bbq, which can be supplied with either logs and kindling or charcoal, tongs, skewers, matches, firelighters and even a bag of marshmallows, for just £22.95 for the duration of your stay. (Note: guests are not permitted to bring their own barbecues.)

We also offer purpose-designed cook tents, which can be pitched next to your accommodation, and feature twin-burner gas stoves with grill, kettle, cookware, crockery and washing up bowl. Cost is £19.95 per night (minimum 2 nights).

**BBQ food packs**
Why waste a moment of your stay stalking the supermarket aisles, when you can have a mouth-watering barbecue pack – including a selection from; locally reared pork sausages, ribs, burgers, chicken, kebabs, rolls and salad – ready and waiting in your cool box? Cost is just £9.95 per person, and a vegetarian option is available on request. Why not add a chilled bottle of prosecco for just £9.95?

**Double tent hire with beds**
Expecting company? Our extra-large sleeps-two ‘high top’ bivvies with ultra-comfortable ‘wideboy’ beds are available to hire in advance of your stay. The £25 per night hire charge includes two additional guests.

**Angling permits**
Fishing is available at a discounted rate of just £10 per day - allowing you to target the popular Moat Lake for carp, tench, crucians, bream and perch.

**Gazebo hire**
Planning a family get-together? Communal gazebos are also available to hire, from just £50 per stay.

Please note too that Rum Bridge is offgrid: the pod’s electricity supply is limited to solar lighting and device-charging, and is thus governed by the notoriously capricious English weather. So don’t be surprised to be issued with LED lamps in the heart of winter.

Location

Clare, England, United Kingdom

Nestling in the midst of the tranquil Suffolk countryside, just a short hop from historic Bury St Edmunds and the world renowned university city of Cambridge, the medieval wool town of Clare boasts a rich and diverse history; and a host of attractions and distractions which belie its diminutive size - including a monthly artisan market, galleries, antique shops, a golf course, cafes, pubs and restaurants.
At its heart: Clare Castle Country Park; home to the remains of a 13th Century stone castle keep set on a 70ft-high motte commanding panoramic views of the town.
Circumscribed by the meandering, reed fringed River Stour, and providing a glorious setting for a picnic or a preprandial stroll, the park is also the site of the original Clare Railway Station, in whose 1865 bookings hall you’ll find the unique Platform One cafe, which offers mouthwatering home cooked meals and snacks throughout the day.
Of similar historic significance, the nearby Clare Priory dates back to 1248, making it one of the oldest religious houses in England; and the Ancient House Museum, located off the bustling market square, offers fascinating insights into the 2,000-year history of what is Suffolk's smallest town.
Foodies, too, will be spoilt for choice, thanks to a wealth of bistros, restaurants, takeaways, traditional and gastro pubs.
And walkers will delight in the area’s many circular walks and the town trail, which take in architecture from almost every period in history, and demonstrate why Clare was recently awarded the much coveted ‘Walkers Are Welcome’ status.
