The Waiting Rooms are part of the old Wretham & Hockham Railway Station which closed in 1964

They have a small cloakroom, a living room/diner a tiny study like part of a railway carriage, a bedroom with king size bed and a walk in (through) wardrobe which you can walk through to French Doors which open on to a fenced off end of the platform/small garden. Kitchenette with 2 ring hob, microwave, toaster and kettle.

The old lamplighters hut is an interesting feature which can hold two bicycles

The space
As well as the self contained living space which includes a Kitchenette and shower room with sink and toilet, self contained garden area and outdoor table and chairs, we offer our guests a tour of our tiny railway museum - dedicated to pictures and artefacts from the old Wretham & Hockham station

There is ample parking for even quite large vehicles - on our shared gravel drive - we do shut the gate at night but it is never locked

Guest access
Your stay is self contained apart from the shared driveway - the garden area is for you and your pets - just watch the step down to the platform and note that small dogs may be able to get through the fence

Other things to note
We are ideally placed for Peddars way in particular - just around the corner - for walking or cycling, and Thetford forest in general.

Given the main road A1075 that we live on can be busy at times we recommend care when leaving the property particularly that you should cross the road before walking down to Peddars Way (60 yards then back across the road and turn right)

It should be noted that at busy times the road can be noisy especially with large farm vehicles at peak times, which in the summer in the country can be from 6AM and during harvest at all evening times / anytime!

We provide a home produced local welcome guide which includes 8 local walks from short (1-2miles) to long (up to 10 miles)

We share our Sky Q in the living room and you have access to a 46” TV blue ray player and PS2 and some games. The sky Q box can be moved to the bedroom to attach to a small 21” TV on the wall - but it needs to be swung away from the wall for Wi-fi signal!

We think the wardrobe is like the one in the book The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe as you go through it out into the platform - however you would have to use your imagination

The place is small, quirky and unique we hope you will enjoy your stay.
