Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Our home is an historic" Lustron" post World War II home, sitting on a beautiful 280 acre picturesque Snyder Park with gas lights, children's playground, arboretum, walking paths, dog park, kayaking launch area and colonial clubhouse and a well maintained neighborhood.
We have a central location to major highways including I75(25 minutes), I70 (5 minutes) State Rt.4 and Rt 68. State Rt 40 goes right through Springfield and we're just 3 blocks off Rt. 40.
We're close to many universities.

The space
We have 1100 square feet and an enclosed patio room on the back of the house. Our house is light and airy with lots of natural light. It has an open floor plan with two private bedrooms in the rear of the house. We have a fenced in back yard that is nice for dogs and children. At the current time we have closed off the back patio room for our 3 outdoor cats during the winter months.
With each room, we use a 5 step cleaning and disinfecting process to ensure our home is rigorously cleaned and disinfected. Each room is left sparkling clean and sanitized to Air B and B's specifications and no room is re-entered until our guests arrive. Self check in with a disinfected lockbox, will be available. When interaction with the host or hostess is necessary or desired ,we will wear a mask and keep a 6 foot social distance while we greet or interact with you and your family.
Our neighborhood is quiet and safe with lots of well maintained with homes and sidewalks to stroll or walk your dog. It's a pretty neighborhood with the original gaslights (converted) and mature trees. We directly overlook Snyder Park which has been a beautiful city park since the turn of century. It's a lush and green view for 3 seasons and even has beautiful winter scenes as the weather changes.
If mobility is an issue the house is all on one floor. The back entrance can be used which
has a single step with a ramp. It is possible to get around our house in a wheelchair but it's not adapted in rooms like the bathroom with larger doorway and extra wheelchair space.

Our neighborhood is very picturesque because it's surrounded by a 280 acre city park. It's a lovely, safe and well maintained neighborhood with mature trees and very large park and lots of sidewalks paths and roads to walk and bike. there are concerts in the park festivals, races, lagoons, a large Buck Creek and lots of beauty and history. Our house was built in 1949 and most of the houses are very different from one another built in different decades and spanning two and a half centuries. We see geese, ducks, Great Blue Heron, opossums, raccoons ,groundhogs ,squirrels and many and various birds with their songs in different seasons. The park is known for many very old trees with much variety including some beautiful Buckeye trees.

I'm a retired teacher from the public school system and also retired from teaching art at Springfield Museum of art. I taught Special Education for most of my teaching career. The need for special ed. teachers was so great when I graduated from Wright State University, that I switched from teaching art to teaching Learning Disabilities/ Behavior Disorders. I continued this for most of my years in teaching. My husband and I are now retired and spend the winters in New myrna Beach,FL. I'm interested in hosting our home for the months that we're in Florida ( January- April. We'll be returning the second week in May.
