This charming cottage is tucked in from the road and surrounded by nature.
Couples and families can make memories at the serene waterfront or relax with a morning coffee in the screened-in porch. There's nothing like starlight and s'mores around the campfire after a day of fun!
Tyn'y coed is bright, open and comfortable with a wealth of lawn and deck space for family bonding. With full laundry, amazing drinking water and full septic, life is easy here.

The space
Tyn'y Coed is located on a private 10 acres. It sits safely uphill from the Magnetawan River, and a stone's throw from beautiful Pickerel lake.

The cottage is a bright space with open concept living room, eat-in kitchen, bathroom, 2 bedrooms and large screened-in-porch. It sleeps up to 4 adults comfortably, or a small family.

The master bedroom has a comfortable queen bed and the second bedroom has a queen bed with a single bunk above it. There is a single trundle bed as well when needed.

The kitchen offers everything a family needs to make great meals, and the freshly renovated bathroom is just off the full laundry room.
Besides the campfire, horseshoes, water toys and lawn games, we also provide a collection of books, magazines and board games.

Without wifi or TV, guests may enjoy a digital detox. Depending on your phone provider though, there are a couple of 'hot spots' at the cottage.

During the winter months:
Guests park at the road and hike in. We will shovel the parking spot between stays, but if it snows during a stay, guests are responsible for clearing out their car. We provide a shovel.
The trail from the roadside into the cottage is 200m long. This rental is perfect for the adventurous types that look forward to the reward of a secluded winter wonderland.
There is also potential for a power outage. Welcome to cottage country!! :) We leave an emergency propane heater with a C02 detector as daytime back up. The cottage is well insulated, heats up and retains heat well.

Tyn Y Coed is a perfect quiet getaway for small groups and families only. This rental is not suitable for groups looking to party. The cottage is pet friendly, but we will only approve small breed dogs- under 40lbs. Because of our soft pine floors, this is a hard rule.

If you have a larger group (up to 12) we also ocassionally rent out an amazing little cabin on the neighbouring property.

Includes:
In summer:
-Canoes, kayaks and paddle boat.
-Outdoor seating at the fire pit and waterfront
-Spring water from the tap (thanks to a deep drilled well).
-BBQ (please refill propane if staying for an extended trip or using large amounts)
-Fire pit (guests supply their own fire wood)
-adult life jackets

Year round:
-Electric Stove, Fridge and microwave
-Dishes, cutlery, pots, pans, coffee maker, kettle
-Washer & Dryer available, however bring your own detergent if you use.
-There are ceiling fans in the master bedroom and main living area. There is a portable fan in the secondary bedroom.

Things to bring:
- We leave the cottage with some toilet paper/paper towels - but guests must bring their own supply- especially for longer stays.
- Please bring toiletries (i.e., shampoo, soap etc. )
-Guest bring their own towels and pillows, but extras are available just in case anyone forgets.
-Slippers are suggested during winter stays.
-Some guests prefer to bring their own bedding. Because of that we will leave clean sheets in a zip lock bag, along with a down duvet at the foot of each bed.

**If you're visiting during the winter bring your skates and visit Arrowhead's fantastic forest ice skating trail!**

Guests may also want to bring a blue tooth speaker, outdoor firewood, bug repellent, sunscreen and their favourite games and books.

Where you’ll be

Burk's Falls, Ontario, Canada

Ty n y Coed is located 15 minutes from the quiet town of Burks Falls which offers a River Walk, groceries, LCBO, Tim Hortons (wifi) and movie theatre (seasonal). Both Algonquin and the bustling town of Huntsville are 30 minutes away.
Some of the hidden gems in our area include, Crystal Cave, Screaming Heads of Midlothian, Riverbowl, High Rock and fall wagon rides at Copeman Tree Farms.
There are two sandy public beaches directly on Pickerel lake. Each is a short drive from the cottage.
Some of our guests might enjoy an afternoon of playing golf or grabbing something delicious from the Burks Falls Welcome Centre and bakery -which makes seriously good treats! Guests can also borrow a bike from the WC and take a zip around town. A trip to the Copperhead Distillery is always a fun outing. They produce hand crafted spirits, wine and cider from local organic fruits and grain. Call ahead to see if you will be there for a free sampling afternoon!
