This is a room perfect for a solo traveller who has a bit of appreciation for comfortable kitsch. Little Burgundy is one of the best neighbourhoods you'll find; it's within walking distance to everything, yet off the beaten path. You are sharing with me and my pet rabbits. As a solo traveller, you're welcome to book for longer than 10 days. If you book in winter, you'll stay in the gold room (other listing) instead of this Granny/Neapolitan-ice-cream room.

The space
The house is very Danish design and antique-y. This bedroom is very Granny and I love it. (It is not a room for people who take themselves too seriously. It is a room for people who like peacefulness.)

There are 3 bedrooms upstairs (one is mine), with an airy foyer (landing). The upstairs bathroom, where the bedrooms are, is predominantly yours - I use it minimally. The house is lived in - by me. If you stay long-term it will feel like a family or roommate situation (but be warned: I am the matriarch of the kitchen.) You are welcome in the common areas of the house. The main floor bathroom is private, as is the downstairs.

This particular room is seasonal because the bedrooms are unheated but if you book here in winter, you'll stay or else have daytime/evening access to the gold room instead. (Personally, I like the cold and sleep incredibly well in this room, but one needs heat for work or study.) The bed is a metal frame trundle bed (with a new wooden bed head!) and the mattress is medium firm.

The rabbits do come upstairs, so if you are allergic, sorry, but don't stay here. Rabbits can chew rubbery things and anything that has food in it. If you're not in the room, keep your bedroom door closed so that they can’t come in.

The bedroom doors do not have locks. *You either trust the AirBnB ethos of living with locals in their home, or you stay elsewhere.*

6 months of the year, fish live in an aquarium on the kitchen counter. They are all named Steve.

Where you’ll be

Montréal, Quebec, Canada

It's truly a great neighbourhood with everything you need on a daily basis; easy access to downtown and Old Montreal, and not complicated with traffic and parking. I often feel like the luckiest person in the world to have landed where I have. Not to brag, because I know that lots of people have wonderful places to live. I just feel like I have the best of Montreal in easy reach.

Ambivert (an introvert who's open) who likes sharing her home and so also tries to be a good guest. I love travelling and the hospitality of others inspires me. I would say for now that my life motto is Because I Said I Would. I'm also a runner, a vegetarian, and I like beer (in half-pint drafts: a total featherweight).

During your stay

I will likely be home when you're here. Ask me anything. I am interested in some socializing with you, particularly if I have the time on a weekend or over a meal.
