Great check-in experience

Recent guests loved the smooth start to this stay.
Glamping in a traditional 2 person shepherds hut, in beautiful Perthshire on the eastern edge of the Ochil hill range
This is no ordinary hut with a massive panoramic window, it delivers an amazing view of our countryside The hut is elevated so you get a real sense of height as well as privacy. It's literally you sheep wildlife and nature
We also offer a variety of hampers to make your stay that extra special please message for more details.

The space
Situated in a cosy corner of the romantic Ochil Hills, we offer an individual experience stay; in our traditional two person shepherd’s hut. The hut has no mains electricity, mains water, sewage, or WIFI. There is a chemical toilet and hand basin in a separate wooden hut. We supply nightly fuel for the inside stove, and water in containers for cooking, cleaning etc.
The hut area is elevated commanding spectacular views across the hills providing a very peaceful experience leaving you refreshed and rested. The hut was made by a local carpenter and has been fitted with a huge panoramic window, taking in an amazing view of the surrounding countryside.
An outdoor firepit is available for your use- outdoor fire wood is £4 extra per night. Within the house rules, you are responsible for the correct management of the fire pit , extinguishment and clearance of the fire pit, if used. No other open fires are permitted on site.

Prices are variable throughout the year with a minimum of a two night stay.

We are unable to accommodate babies and small children, as there is limited room to erect a travel cot or extra camp beds. The wood burning stove although enclosed does not have a fire guard and is therefore unsuitable for babies and small children.

Please email us if you want to stay longer than 3 nights to work out the best package for you. Check in is 4pm until 7pm and check out is 12pm.

Guest access
We have provided a very comfy double bed, a wood burning stove (no mains electricity) fairy lights, candles, an indoor ring gas camping cooker, firepit, outdoor single ringed camping cooker, picnic bench, cutlery, crockery, water, chemical toilet, and many other items to make your stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.

Access to our shepherd hut is walking (uphill) through open farmland with grazing cattle and sheep, it is located in an elevated position, which is why we have some amazing views. We ask you to keep all shut gates closed, and dogs must be kept on leads at all times, and under control; as we are a working livestock farm.

On arrival we will take you, and any luggage in our off-Road 4x4 and introduce you to the amenities. We ask guests when departing to deposit the keys in the agreed location, and make their own way (including their luggage), back to the car park area.

We are 15 minutes from Perth, 40 minutes from Edinburgh, and under an hour to Glasgow, St Andrews, Sterling and Gleneagles

Other things to note
Check in from 4pm until 7pm. If you know you are going to be later than check in please phone, email or text us and we will try to accommodate any arrangements. We ask our guests for an approx. arrival time so we can meet you, and take you up the shepherds hut.
Thanks.

My work: Honey Bee Farmer
Lives in Path of Condie, United Kingdom
Mum (Margaret) and Dad (Jeff) got their life long wish and moved to Scotland some 25 years ago. However, Karen (and Jason- husband) as well as myself (Tracy), still remained working and living in Manchester and Leicester respectively. At every opportunity we would visit mum and dad, stay as long as we could, and helped dad with his bee-keeping. When dad took early retirement, we decided visits to and from Scotland weren’t enough anymore; and all agreed to get a smallholding and follow our hearts, to all be together as a family, living a rural lifestyle. After years of hobbyist bee-keeping, training and experience we decided to take the plunge and set up our own family run honey bee farm and five years ago, we moved to Cloverlea, and Cloverlea Apiaries, ‘The Friendly Bee Company’ was formed. When our neighbours (Laura and Jerad) decided to return to the Isle of Lewis, we wanted to ensure guests were able to continue to enjoy the experience of Ochils Edge Shepherd Huts, as it is more than just a place to stay. Our shepherd’s hut was built for guests to enjoy the surroundings, in which we work and live without the pressures and stresses of everyday life. The busier and more hectic our lives have become; Ochil’s Edge Shepherd Huts provides the opportunity to step out and to reflect on what really matters in life. The hut provides that essential sense of privacy we all need nowadays. It’s a place to enjoy new adventures, a place to be with nature, a place for reflection away from our busy lives………. a place to just........bee. To make your stay extra special we offer a variety of hampers, please contact us for more details.
