Hybrid House
We have taken our shed and turned it into a unique and comfortable semi-off grid “tiny house” . This cozy space is located in the middle of our city in our backyard but seems like you are in the country with our chickens feet from your door. Our shed is the perfect way to experience an off grid lifestyle or tiny house living. Perfect for couples or solo travelers. Please read additional info for more important details.

The space
Come spend a night or three in our cozy shed which is mostly designed from reclaimed wood which brings a rustic feel to your stay. This is a 12 x 16 Semi off grid shed with loft and compost toilet. You will be situated in the heart of Oswego in our backyard with your own sitting area .

The shed is a cozy space which has a loft with a queen size floor mattress and a futon downstairs that pulls out into a bed for additional sleeping. There are linens, pillows and blankets.

In the half bath there is a clean compost toilet with instructions for use. There is no shower unfortunately and no hot water but we know most guest can shower at the gym. We have a Planet Fitness within ten minutes drive.

We have solar powered lights and electricity to plug in cell phones and a lap top. SOLAR POWER for lights means that there may be days where there is no sun which means no charge in the battery and no lights. We do supply battery operated lights in case this happens but feel free to bring your own.

In the kitchen you will find a one burner butane cooker, French press, and a cooler for your drinks or /and any food you may bring. There is also a foot pump sink for washing hands and cleaning up a bit. There is a five gallon water supply with a five gallon holding tank for grey water. Please let us know if you run out. There is no hot water. You will also find a Tea pot for heating water. We will also provide sugar and cream salt and pepper. We provide two plates, two bowls and two coffee cups and utensils for your convenience. Please plan on bringing your own drinking water (we supply a small amount).
Free wifi access allows for work and streaming your favorite videos. We are fully equipped with a tv and a Roku to watch a bit of television. You will need to sign into your own Netflix , spectrum or Hulu account.

Please be mindful that there are neighbors. We do have neighbors with children and you may hear them outdoors playing. We like to remind people that we are in the city even though sometimes it feels like you are away in the middle of nowhere.

In the event that you book more than three days we will need to schedule cleaning to refill and empty water and liquids from the compost toilet. This can be scheduled with the guest at time of check in.

In the winter we get a lot of snow. We have very cold temperatures. You will have an electric space heater if its cold and a tiny wood stove with wood if you are familiar with using a wood stove.

There is not a landline phone here.

We are always decorated for the holidays.
We take pride in maintaining our shed & perform regular maintenance to keep everything in good working order. We make every effort to correct any problem you encounter during your stay as soon as possible.

If you love tiny houses and living off grid come check out our hybrid house. Sometimes a place like this just needs to be experienced!! Its no Taj Mahal but we love it! Think Glamping but maybe not so fancy lol

We live in the house out front but we aren’t intrusive . We know you may be here to get away from it all.

All races, religions, sexual orientations and genders welcome here.

We are a married couple that own our own business. We love to travel and love meeting new people. During our travels we always find ourselves collecting ideas to create our own personal getaway just steps from our back door. A place where you can just forget all your worries and focus on nothing, or one another. A place to take a moment and enjoy life . The shed is an amazing place that we love and we would like to invite you to enjoy it as well. It is a one of a kind place to stay in NY while on your travels or just for the experience of an off grid life or just staying in a tiny house. A great place for an artist or writer or couples. We are close to SUNY Oswego and close to Lake Ontario where you can kayak, paddle board, launch your boat, fish, or rent a paddle boat. We are also the home to Fort Ontario a historic location which was featured on Ghost Hunters. Definitely haunted! Come stay in a tiny house and see what it’s all about!! It’s an experience you will never forget!!
