Casa Rural # CR/MA/00510

Love the idea of a villa holiday but don't want to worry about the cooking, shopping and cleaning? Casa Colina Staffed Villa allows you to enjoy a private villa but your hosts Niki & Paul will do all the work for you!

The space

Casa Colina is a beautiful renovated farmhouse set in the hills of Axarquia, close to the pretty whitewashed village of Comares. A villa holiday with a difference.

You can rent Casa Colina as a staffed villa, enjoying all the benefits of a villa holiday with your friends or family, but without the hassle of shopping, catering and cleaning. Your hosts, Paul & Niki, who live onsite with their animals (3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 donkeys and numerous hens!) will serve you breakfasts, lunches and evening meals and can tailor make your stay according to your own individual needs. A perfect place to celebrate birthdays, weddings, anniversaries or just being on holiday! You can choose from Gala evening meals to more informal BBQ's. All food is freshly prepared using the best ingredients, including the famous Iberican pork products, free range chicken, fresh eggs from our own chickens and the wonderful bread that is baked daily by Niki.

If you fancy going out to explore the local area and enjoy some traditional Spanish cuisine then Paul & Niki are on hand to give you some recommendations. You shouldn't be disappointed as they have lived in Spain since 2010 and now have a good knowledge of the local area including the cities of Málaga and Granada.

The four guest rooms at Casa Colina all have air conditioning and private access. The Lemon suite is a small double, the Orange is a twin room which can have an additional single bed added to it. The Almond suite has a king size bed and a large private terrace and finally the Olive suite is a complete apartment. Comprising of a bedroom with a double bed, living room with a full size double sofa bed. And fully equipped kitchen (suitable for making snacks only when catering for a large party). It also has a large gated, private terrace.. All the rooms have an ensuite bathroom and their is also an interconnecting door between the Lemon and Orange suites which can be unlocked to make a family room if there are younger children in the party.

Casa Colina is set in the perfect location to enjoy all that Andalucia has to offer. Why not go off exploring for the day to the coast or to the wonderful cities of Granada, Malaga, Cordoba or Seville, then return in time for dinner and a bottle of our carefully selected Spanish wines.

Should you wish to relax with a good book and your Ipod then our pool area has a selection of easy chairs, sun loungers and hammocks for you to use.

Great stay! Niki and Paul were great hosts, offering both great cooking and some impressive home made beer. We were a bunch of 12 people, including some young kids, and it's always a hassle to eat at restaurants with kids. It was great to have ready BBQ stuff and home cooked meals at the place, and we properly spent most of our time by the pool. Proper vacation, and we'd love to come back again some day :)

We were a group of 5 adults and 6 children that went to Paul&Niki for 7 days to celebrate the grandmothers 70th birthday. We had the whole house for ourselves, which was perfect since one family lived in the two bigger suites (each with two bedrooms) and the grandmother lived for herself in the Almond suite. Each suite had a personal outer seating area. The house and the surroundings were just amazing. The rooms were of highest standards, cleaned everyday and with complimentary water, coffee and sparkling wine in the refrigerator. Paul and Niki obviously loves their work and greeted us all with great warmth. In addition we had breakfast everyday for all the guests, it consisted of coffee/tea, bread, home made marmalades, yoghurt, freshly boiled eggs (from the hens 10 meters away) and with a special everyday such as an omelette, pancakes etc. Just superb. For lunch they arranged with tapas and sandwiches in our refrigerators so that we could have it whenever we wanted. The dinners were also just perfect. Three course-dinners with tapas for starters, then an Andalusia inspired main course followed by magnificent desserts (the Pavlova cake with balsamico marinated strawberrys with a touch of black pepper was a favourite!). The only minor detail that we could potentially say any negative about was that the pool was very cold in April, however the kids used it everyday anyway.. In summary, this was the best AirBnB experience so far and by far. Paul and Niki really deserves the great reviews they've gotten before. This is like having a small hotel for yourself with optional all-inclusive and butler service... but for a very low cost. Worth every cent, we will try to come back!

If mouthwatering meals, beautiful scenery and warm hosts are your thing, then STAY HERE. Our whole family just loved our time at Casa Colinas. We had grandparents, parents, and kids (ages 4,9) and Paul and Niki welcomed us all with big smiles and lots of great advice about local markets and fun things to do. We had several meals, tapas and sangria while there, and everything was so delicious and beautifully presented I felt we were staying at a 3-star restaurant! The scenery is awe-inspiring and it is so quiet and peaceful. The rooms were impeccable, very comfortable beds, with available laundry service too. My boys had a great time splashing in the (then) frigid pool and playing with the friendly dogs. I hope we can return but until then, stay here and have one of Niki's fabulous gin cocktails or some of Paul's delicious craft beer for us!!

My family and I (6 adults and 6 children) had an absolutely fantastic stay at Casa Colina! All parts of the place are very beautiful - the rooms, the bathrooms, the surroundings, the views etc. Paul and Niki were the best hosts you can imagine - so kind and helpful. We all felt at home from the very beginning of our stay. We had all our meals at Casa Colina, and we had the most delicious spanish food every day - better than any restaurant! If we had to go on a trip during the days of our stay they just packed up some delicious tapas. Back in cold Denmark we miss the starry nights with cold rosé and cava on the cosy terrace. We highly recommend a stay at Casa Colina. We're definitely coming back.
