Hostal Suiza is a small Inn near the center ( 8 min. away). Two dogs are part of our family and in our patio you can still find endemic plants and animals. We try to keep an environmentally friendly life style as far as possible at our "rustic" place.

The space

We live just a few minutes out of town and have a patio and a terrace with two hammocks. In our backyard you can observe finches and lava lizards and you are going to meet our dogs Paxi and Oso and our chickens.

We keep an environmentally lifestyle and do not offer air conditioning but our rooms have big windows and you can sit outside and enjoy the breeze.

In the reception area you have access to a kettle and a coffeemaker, a fridge is available to store food or water and plenty of dishes and cutlery if you want to prepare your breakfast or a salad.

If there is something else that you need like a blender we are more than happy to provide it, just please clean and store everything again for you and others to use.

Guest access

You have access to a fridge and a kettle where you can prepare a cup of coffee or tea. We have some books that you can read or swap and a water dispenser where you can get potable water.

Interaction with guests

Jose my husband is often around if you speak some spanish he can give you some tips and I am at home when I´m not working. About two weeks a month. We are more then happy to provide information about the islands, and recommend a few good places.
We are both naturalist guides my husband is retired now and I am still working.
If you are interested we have some books about natural history and GALAPAGOS in general, but please ask if you are interested!
See you soon

Other things to note

We do not change sheets and towels everyday in order to safe water which is an important resource on an island with limited fresh water. There is more information about that on a small information sheet which we ask you to read when you arrive to our place.

José Wa a delightful host. Never Met Sylvia. Upstairs room was better than lower. Pleased I was able to be moved. Location ok. Rustic with chickens and dogs. A fan would be nice. More information about taxi before arrival could be given. (cost & directions to give driver). Materials on island (maps, restaurants, etc) should be available. Reasonable value, just.

Only stayed with Silvia one night. She offered to meet us at the dock and waited although our boat was 30 minutes late. Her place was a quick 5 minute walk from the dock/malecon - very convenient location. Room was big and very clean. Shower/bathroom had warm water and towels and soap provided. There is a nice, big kitchen/common area that we didn't have the chance to use, but would be a great amenity for a longer stay. Two very friendly dogs (Oso and Paxi), nice big yard with chickens and baby chicks. Silvia suggested some activities for us during our short 1-day stay. She was extremely helpful with directions and answers any questions we had. Breakfast was great - coffee, fresh fruit and granola and fresh croissants with jam and butter. Would highly recommend staying at Pension Suiza during a trip to San Cristobal.

Great and comfortable place just a few steps from all of the action in town, restaurants, shops, beaches, etc. Silvia was there to help when needed.

Thank you so much for the hospitality. We were lucky to find you on airbnb. It was the best (and cleanest) room of our trip to Galapagos! We highly recommend your address. Hope to come back one day. Romain

We had a great time at Silvia's place. The apartment is well located and the rooms were really clean. Silvia also helped us with a lot of tips. Totally recommended.

I like to read and relax, walk my dogs or just sit and drink a cup of coffee with my friends and guests. I am looking forward to introduce you to the Galapagos Islands my home in the last 30 years.
