Self-contained suite as part of a renovated one storey farmhouse which dates back 200 years. Private entrance. Small kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. Safe parking at rear of house. House full of character and unique features. Please note that it is NOT in Kilkenny City. Located approximately 20 minutes drive outside of Kilkenny (20km), close to Castle Durrow and mid-way between Dublin and Cork. Very scenic, country area with beautiful walks. (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) GPS.

The space
200 year old traditional one storey farmhouse. Renovated to retain as many original features as possible while incorporating contemporary essentials (like a bathroom for instance!!). Majestic ancient beech trees shelter the house. Ideal spot for nature lovers or guests who appreciate a bit of peace and quiet. Guests comment on the comfort of the bed! I consider my home to be relaxed and comfortable. I do NOT live in suburbia. It s a 20/25 minute drive to Kilkenny, 7 minutes to Drrow and about 5 minutes to local supermarket. Please believe me when I say that my home is not suitable for you if you intend to trip the light fantastic in clubs etc as my home is located n the middle of the countryside - so please don't blame me if you are disappointed at the rural nature of the setting! Durrow has a few places to eat - Castle Durrow (open Wednesday to Sunday) Bowes (daytime only), Ashebrook House (weekends only) and The Castle Arms Hotel (open morning noon and night!) This area is a great base for people who want to explore the South East (Carlow, Tipperary, Waterford, Wexford & Kilkenny). It is also perfect for anyone attending a wedding at Castle Durrow. There are also beautiful woodland walks in durrow.

Guest access
Guests have private access to a self-contained area of the house which consists of a small kitchen, bathroom and double bedroom. Safe and private parking. Guests welcome to sit or eat in the front garden (weather pernitting).

Other things to note
I have 4 cats and 1 verrry spoiled dog. 3 of the cats "Fluff", "Mama" and "Blacky" are outside all the time. One cat, "Lucky", managed to charm his way into the house much to the annoyance of "Ned" the dog. They are learning to live in harmony - sort of. The animals do not have access to the guest area, unless invited!
Unfortunately we do not yet have Wi-Fi on this part of our road as it is a "black spot". I can give guests access to the internet through the hotspot on my mobile.

I enjoy hosting and have met lots of very interesting people. I am in and out of the house a lot but am always available to meet guests and am available by phone/e-mail if you require my help if I'm not home. Keep on this road and drive through Ballyragget towards Durrow. DO NOT TAKE THE FIRST ROAD WHICH IS SIGNPOSTED LISDOWNEY. During your stay
I work full time but do my best to be home to greet guests. I relate local information - places of interest and things to do. Guests can have as little or as much contact with me as they wish. I tend to leave people to do their own thing, unless they are looking for a chat or information.
