Swallow Barn is a cosy secluded stone barn conversion in the heart of stunning Peak District walking and cycling countryside.

A two storey property suitable for two adults, with a double bedroom (double bed) upstairs, small kitchen, shower room and living room downstairs which opens on to its own small secluded terrace and sun trap garden.

Up to two dogs are welcome on request with a small fee

The space
Swallow Barn is situated in our yard set well back from the road, with plenty of off road parking, it is very tranquil with lots of bird life and you can hear owls most nights. There is a lovely view of the village of Butterton and with a short walk up the paddock behind the property a view across the hills of the Manifold Valley.

You will be welcomed to Swallow Barn with a homemade bread, cookies and local free range eggs. Luxury Faith in Nature toiletries which are kind to the planet are also supplied.

Guest access
There is a small well equipped gym and sauna onsite for guest use, secure undercover bike storage available and a workshop for any necessary maintenance. There are 4 acres of paddocks which guests are welcome to walk in. We occasionally have sheep grazing, at these times dogs must be kept on a lead.
There is an onsite laundry and drying room.
You are welcome to charge your hybrid or electric car, there will be an appropriate charge.

Other things to note
There is a travel cot available for one infant on request, but there is a small pond in the garden to be aware of.

Location

Leek, England, United Kingdom

Swallow Barn is positioned on the outskirts of the traditional Peak District village of Butterton, home to the Black Lion Inn the thriving village pub serving great food and a rotation of excellent local beers. Butterton over looks the Manifold Valley and the disused Leek and Manifold light railway a favourite for low level traffic free walking and cycling. For the more adventurous we are near to the Roaches a renowned rocky ridge popular with walkers, fell runners and climbers.

Butterton is within easy reach of Alton Towers, Ashbourne, gate way to the Peaks, Leek, Buxton, Bakewell and Chatsworth House.

My husband Chris and I have been running, hiking and biking the hills of the Peak District for many years and love to share our joy of the region. We have two properties near each other in the village of Butterton which offer high quality accommodation for guests who want to explore the area. With active guests in mind we provide secure undercover bike storage, a small but well equipped gym for those who don’t want to miss a moments fitness training and a sauna to ease hardworking muscles. We are on hand to help with where to go and plotting routes and can provide a drop off or collection service if you want to tackle the National Park long distance boundary walk or other A to B paths. Through our “Active Stays with Chris and Pru” business we offer personal training and running coaching, guided walks and runs and also a “when all else fails” emergency bike breakdown recovery service.
