Lovely, country style 1 bedroom with private terrace, high ceilings and lots of sunlight. Steps from Prospect Park, Public Library, Brooklyn Museum, and all the shops and restaurants in Park Slope or Prospect Heights. Short walk to 2/3 & B/Q trains.
This an older brownstone building with lots of character. Very high ceilings and beautiful south-facing windows give the space a very open and airy feel. Out the windows you see trees and I sometimes wake up to bird and owl sounds. It feels like the country, but you're just steps to some of the best attractions in Brooklyn as well as a quick subway ride into the city.
Neither the building nor the apartment are newly renovated but everything is in good working order. You will notice the fixtures in the bathroom and kitchen are fairly old. The kitchen is very tiny; if you are someone who likes to cook elaborate meals this may not be the place for you.
I live in this space so some of my own belongings will be tucked away, mostly out of sight in different corners of the apartment. The shelves are full of books and I encourage guests to read them! Weather permitting, feel free to utilize the outdoor space as much as you'd like.
Upstairs neighbor sometimes plays loud music at night.
All parts of the apartment are accessible except the closet to the left of the front door. I put my own things away in there when guests are staying and it's stuffed :-)
Interaction with guests
I am always available via phone. I will likely be there to greet you and hand the key off, but if not I will leave the key in a convenient place for you to pick it up.
Other things to note
The apartment can sometimes be too hot and sometimes be too cold. There are plenty of blankets to keep warm but please pack socks and sweaters. It's an old building.
Please just respect my neighbors in terms of noise. No additional guests, no parties. It's a fairly quiet building. No pets allowed on premises at all. If you smoke on the patio please make sure the door into the bedroom us shut while you're outside doing so.
