The Lock House is a beautiful 18th century house, in an idyllic setting facing the Trent and Mersey Canal and adjacent to Branston Water Park. We have 2 double rooms to let, one en-suite and the other with a private bathroom.
An ideal place to visit the midlands.
At this time, your safety is paramount, so we have taken all possible steps to ensure it, including deep cleaning. Hand sanitiser is available. Breakfast will be continental only.

The space
Set by the Trent and Mersey Canal and adjacent to Branston Water Park, we are in the heart of the country and the National Forest.
Beautiful walks invite visitors, and there is much to do locally. Being central, we are in easy reach of many towns and areas of beauty. See our website or listing on trip advisor for ideas of places to visit and things to do.

Parking is plentiful. There is a lounge and dining room, where guests may eat breakfast and are welcome to eat other meals here too. Guests are also welcome to use the garden.

My husband (Peter) and I always enjoy the company of others and are happy to help guests in any way possible. If they wish for privacy they will have it. Likewise, if they wish for company, we aim to please.
We always greet guests on arrival and serve breakfast daily.

The Lock House, although situated in a quiet area, is close enough o the A38 for easy access to the Midlands.
We love the fact you can just go outside the door and you have so much choice of where to walk. The nearby Bridge Inn is always an inviting treat, as is Barton Marina . This has a fantastic, small , independant cinema and a great pub, cafe and little craft shops,
The National Memorial Arboretum is a favourite haunt too. Well worth a visit.

There is a bus stop in the village, a short walk away.
The train station is about 3 miles from Lock House.

It is quiet and dark at night, so a good night's sleep is usually guaranteed.

Now a retired teacher, I am loving my role as B and B host. I still find it hard to stop rushing around but I am enjoying keeping fit, doing the garden, cooking , drawing, writing and listening to radio 4. I look forward to meeting new guests and aim to make their stay at Lock House as enjoyable as possible.
