A first floor self-catering apartment in a beautifully reformed old Andalucian farmhouse. The house retains all the old characteristics & offers all mod cons. Well located for peace and tranquility, local villages with shops and bars, a large local town and well situated for sightseeing to Granada, Cordoba, the coast and more.
This is a totally self-contained first floor apartment with fabulous views across valleys and mountains as far as the Sierra Morena Sierra Nevada mountain range. It is a very spacious but cosy apartment with a log burner for wintry days.
In the summer (May to end September) we have a large splash pool.
The double bedroom was converted from the old barn and has a fabulous high vaulted beamed ceiling with en suite shower-room. There is a large double bed and a spare single bed in the double bedroom.
The salon has two areas. The sitting area has french windows offering views down the valley as far as the mountain ranges. There is a log burner for cold winter's days. The two day beds in the salon can be used for extra guests; charge for extra guests is very reasonable and varies depending on length of stay.
There is a kitchen/diner in the other area of the salon. There is a gas hob with electric oven and fridge + freezer. The kitchen is well-equipped with pots, pans, crockery, cutlery etc.
Guests access to the apartment is through a shared entrance hall and up one short flight of stairs. There is also access to an additional small double/twin bedroom with shower-room at an extra charge.
Guests have several terraces to sit out on including a sunning area adjacent to the pool.
Although the property is very rural, it is not remote and we have very friendly Spanish neighbours. Road access to the property is good with plenty of parking.
Local bars still offer beer and tapas for only 1.20 euro!
Local shops 10 minutes away. Main town Alcala La Real (15km away) with a significant historical castle.
The Alhambra at Granada an hour away. Mezquito at Cordoba under 2 hours away. Coast an hour and a half. Sierra Nevada for skiing just over the hour.
Interaction with guests
Mostly, Helen the proprietor, is resident in her apartment and will 'meet and greet'. Guests are given complete privacy, however Helen is available for queries or problems. If Helen is away, there are neighbours and a handyman available to sort any queries or maintenance problems.
A handout leaflet is given to guests on arrival with details of the property, grounds and local facilities in towns and shops etc.
We sometimes have tapas parties and/or barbecues where everyone is invited including locals.
Other things to note
Rent is the same all the year round. Whether for short or long periods all utilities are included together with 24/7 wifi and logs (for the winter).
It is more economical if you rent for a week at a time. It is even more economical to rent for a month or more.
For stays of a month or longer, your stay includes 2 full gas bottles (for heater and hob) but thereafter guests must purchase more gas.
Any children must be well-supervised in doors and outdoors. We cannot take responsibility for accidents.
No dogs in the apartment.
No smoking indoors.
It is important to have your own insurance for accident, loss of personal items and illness.
