Our slightly shabby 1910 villa is the perfect place to escape and read a few great novels. It has high ceilings, plenty of light, a colourful mix of decor, and lots of great books (Classic, modern, and NZ literature). The guestroom features bay windows and ornamental fireplace. Must love pets - we have one friendly beagle (Eager) and three aloof cats (Augustus, Remus & Romulus). Sample a wide range of local jams, honey, bread, milk, muesli, fruit and milk for breakfast.

The space
This family home has been well-loved and is need of some repair and TLC, but that kind of adds to the character. The old cast iron bath has some rust marks and it takes a little while to get the temperature in the shower just right. My son and I will be your hosts and you can make yourself completely at home, with full use of all facilities and access to our vege garden. Tea, coffee, and sugar are provided in the guest room.

Guest access
Shared bathroom: shower (with good water pressure) over tub.
Kitchen: fridge, microwave, gas hobs, all cooking equipment, cutlery, plates, bowls, glasses.
Yard and veranda.
Washing machine, washing powder, drier, and outdoor washing line.

Other things to note
The dog is very friendly! He will follow you around the house. Some people find him a little bit annoying. He also sheds a bit of hair in the summer time.
