I love this cabin and lived in it for 4 years while building my cob house. You will be pleasantly surprised by how private and well stocked it is (e.g. olive oil, balsamic vinegar). Most people say it is so comfortable, they feel right at home and many guests return over and over.

Other things to note
Please note: minimum stay on Canadian long weekends is 3 nights and in June to August it is 4 nights.
The hot tub is privately located and extra large towels are provided for your use. The tub has dual pressure jets for either relaxing or massaging mode. They can also be turned off for silent enjoyment. The glass roof makes the tub a pleasure to use no matter what the weather.
Two Basset Hounds live in a cob house on the property. There is a bank of trees separating the two houses creating privacy for both.
From cheeky hummingbirds to majestic eagles; from tide-pool creatures to tremendous orcas; as well as wild flowers and trees of many kinds, there is so much for nature lovers to see on Mayne.
Dog friendly for friendly dogs (maximum 2)
This is a shared property so mutual respect is expected with regard to noise and ensuring the gate is closed for dogs.
I always respect my guests privacy during their gulf-island retreat, and also enjoy a garden chat from time to time. I keep busy in my home and on the island, and am sometimes off-island visiting my daughters (but always make an effort to greet guests upon arrival).
I am a retired library tech, avid gardener, dabbler in creative activities, animal lover and mother of three busy daughters. I love Mayne Island and enjoy sharing my gulf island retreat. In my younger years I travelled a bit and very much liked meeting people of all cultures. When my garden harvest is bountiful, it's a pleasure to share the results with my guests. I also have an interest in natural building and have built a cob house on the property.
